The Champions League is heating up and in one of the semifinals, we’ll see PSG vs Man City lock horns at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, April 28th, kick-off at 3:00 pm EST.
The Parisians heroically knocked out title-holders Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals thanks to the utter dominance of Kylian Mbappe, while City defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-2 on aggregate.
City and PSG previously clashed in the last eight of the 2015/16 Champions League campaign, with the English giants advancing behind a Kevin de Bruyne winner in a goal-filled second leg at the Etihad.

PSG’s Eyes on the Prize
Paris Saint-Germain pulled off the unthinkable by eliminating a Robert Lewandowski-less Bayern side, which is going to give them the utmost confidence for the semifinals.
They’ve already had a taste of what it’s like to be in a UCL final, having felt the sheer heartbreak last August in Lisbon. This time around, you better believe the Ligue 1 standouts will be gunning for the ultimate prize.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side has never beat City though in three meetings. However, they’ve all been spaced out over the last 13 years and a lot has changed in both teams.

Mbappe has been the star of the show for PSG in this competition, single-handedly embarrassing Barcelona in the round of 16 with a hat-trick in the first leg, then also netting a brace against the Bavarians. He did have an injury scare on the weekend against Metz though, but the 22-year-old is expected to be fit for Wednesday.
Domestically, Paris is surprisingly not the current league leader with Lille a point ahead of them. Winning Ligue 1 is a common occurrence for Pochettino’s men and although they’ll want to win it all again, Europe’s most prized competition will be the focus.

The Parisians enter Wednesday’s clash in good form, having tasted defeat just once in their last five games. The side has also netted an impressive 13 times in that span while conceding six goals.
City Looking to Build Off EFL Cup Win
The quadruple may not be a possibility after bowing out of the FA Cup, but City managed to grab their first piece of hardware in a 1-0 victory over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup final on Sunday.
Frankly, it wasn’t the most clinical performance from the Citizens as they struggled to find the back of the net. Pep Guardiola’s side didn’t break the deadlock until the 82nd minute when Aymeric Laporte headed home a Kevin de Bruyne cross, allowing them to lift the trophy at Wembley in front of close to 8,000 supporters.

As for the Champions League, Dortmund gave City a serious scare in the second leg of their quarterfinal encounter when Jude Bellingham scored an early opener. But, Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden responded in fine fashion with two goals in the second half to send their side through to the semifinals.
Man City’s form has been a tad shaky as of late, going 3-0-2 in their last five appearances across all competitions. But, despite the lone goal versus Spurs, it was a very dominant showing.
Looking forward ⏩ ⚽️

We’re all aware of what this team is capable of in the final third and they will be looking to create some havoc amongst a PSG backline that has looked vulnerable at the Parc des Princes.
Centre-back John Stones will return for City on Wednesday after serving the first of a three-game domestic suspension against Tottenham. Guardiola will be delighted as he has a fully healthy squad for this massive first leg in the French capital.

PSG vs Man City Prediction
PSG has lost four of their last six fixtures on home soil, which is certainly not a recipe for success as they welcome a quality Man City side to Paris. I do imagine this is going to be a very entertaining match where goals will be scored though.
Mbappe and Neymar are capable of causing problems amongst the finest backlines in world football and I expect them to do so here. But, City will get back to their lethal ways in the final third and grab an important away victory in this tie.
Pick: Man City (+112), Over 2.5 Goals (-152)
