We’re inching closer and closer to a perfect 2-0 week here. Last week the heavy favorites came in with the Cowboys-Eagles-Bills parlay coming through. However, even as +11.5 underdogs on the teaser, the Giants failed to cover, losing 27-13 to blow up the three-team teaser. Tally that up and we’re now 6-10, -4.90 units.

Will 2-0 come this week? Here’s hoping.

Bills vs Jets

• Pick: Bills

The Jets have lost four in a row to the Bills. Those losses have come by 17, 28, 8 and 10 points. The Bills are huge favorites here as 11.5-point chalk. They’re 6-1 and leading the AFC East with both the Jets and Dolphins right behind at 5-3.

New York played its’ first game without rookie sensation Breece Hall last week and they fell 22-17 at home to the now 4-4 New England Patriots. The Jets held Mac Jones to 194 yards and just one passing touchdown. While Zach Wilson had a decent day throwing for 355 yards and two scores. However, he also threw three picks. The Jets won’t hold Josh Allen to under 200 passing yards and won’t have the offense without Hall to pull the upset.

Dolphins vs Bears

• Pick: Dolphins

The Bears’ offense has suddenly sprung to life with 29 and 33 points in the past two weeks. Unfortunately for them, they allowed 49 points in Dallas last week to lose 49-29. That leaves them at 3-5 and was apparently enough for management to shake things up this season. The Bears traded two-time second-team All-Pro linebacker Roquan Smith to the Ravens. Smith was the league’s leading tackler at the time of the trade. Chicago did add to their offense though with the addition of WR Chase Claypool from Pittsburgh.

The Dolphins have been up and down winning four, losing three and now winning two after last week’s 31-27 road win in Detroit. The Dolphins got back to winning ways with Tua Tagovailoa back under center. He’s thrown for 643 yards and four touchdowns over the past two weeks. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle rank first and fourth respectively in receiving yards and the Fins rank sixth overall offensively in YPG. While Chicago weakened defensively at the trade deadline, Miami fortified with a trade for Broncos’ pass rusher Bradley Chubb. Chubb has 5.5 sacks and 26 pressures so far this season.

Titans vs Chiefs

• Pick: Chiefs

Here we have another double-digit favorite with the 5-2 Chiefs as 12-point chalk at home on SNF to the 5-2 Titans.

A look at the records may give the illusion that these two teams are closer than they are. Tennessee has beaten the Raiders, Colts, Commanders, Colts again and Texans. Those teams have a combined record of 10-19-2, only counting the Colts’ record once.

Kansas City recently thrashed the 49ers in San Fran 44-23 and came up just short to Buffalo 24-20. The Bills and Chiefs are among the favorites in the Super Bowl odds. The Titans got run off the field 41-7 against the Bills.

Tennessee allows the ninth-most passing yards per game which is problematic against Patrick Mahomes and co who rank second in passing offense.

Packers vs Lions

• Pick: Lions (+11.5)

You can’t really trust what you’re going to get with either of these teams right now. Green Bay is 3-5 and has now lost four straight after last week’s 27-17 loss to Buffalo. Detroit is 1-6 and has now lost five straight after last week’s 31-27 loss to Miami.

For all of Detroit’s flaws, they are still the league’s ninth-ranked offense in PPG at 24.7. Whereas Green Bay is way down in 26th with 18.1 PPG.

The Packers have won five of the past six against the Lions, however, at home in Detroit, the Lions won the last meeting 37-30. They lost the previous two by only six points (31-24) and three points (23-20). The two meetings prior to that in Detroit, the Lions won outright.

I may not trust the Lions, or either team really, to win this one, but at home with extra points in this NFL teaser, I’ll take the Lions.

Chargers vs Falcons

• Pick: Falcons (+11)

Atlanta may no longer own a perfect ATS record, but they still own a share of a league-best 6-2-0 mark in picks against the spread, while also being 4-4 SU. Los Angeles is a respectable 4-3-0 ATS, 4-3 SU and is coming out of a bye.

So Chargers -3 is maybe fare. Maybe. But would you trust the Chargers to beat anyone by double digits? I would not. Los Angeles is 27th in rushing defense and will be tasked with slowing down Atlanta’s fifth-ranked ground game. The Falcons have been doing just fine with the combo of Tyler Allgeier and Caleb Huntley, but could possibly welcome back starter Cordarrelle Patterson from IR this week.

LA also has a whole host of injuries on offense to deal with which makes seeing them pulling away form the Falcons even tougher.

The Falcons are 3-1 at home and outside of a 35-17 road loss in Cincinnati and a 28-14 home win over San Fran, their games, win or lose, have been decided by 3, 6, 3, 4, 4 and 1 point. Falcons with extra points on this Week 9 teaser is our pick.

Seahawks vs Cardinals

• Pick: Seahawks (+10)

Seattle has been one of the surprise teams of the season posting identical 5-3 SU and ATS records, pacing them to the top of the NFC West Division. They may be on the road to division rival Arizona this weekend, but the Cards are 3-5 SU and only 1-3 at home.

The Seahawks got spanked 27-7 in San Fran in Week 2, but their other two losses have come by four and seven points. They’re also riding a three-game win streak heading into Week 9.

With DeAndre Hopkins back from suspension, Arizona’s offense has looked dangerous, scoring 26 and 42 points the past two weeks. But, they’ve still given up 34 points in back-to-back weeks. If this one unfolds into a shootout, it will suit Seattle just fine as they’re the league’s fourth-highest-scoring team at 26.3 PPG. The seahawks do enough win or lose to stay within this teaser price.
