College Football player props are available at the best online sportsbooks, at least in the states that allow them.

Bettors in AR, CT, DE, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MO, MT, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NC, ND, RI, DC and WY can bet on college player props in some form, whether that’s passing, rushing or receiving yards, or anytime touchdowns.

At the top of this page, you’ll find the best odds on college props from top-rated sportsbooks.

What Are College Football Player Props

College football player props are betting markets on the statistical outcomes of individual players. They can be based on passing, rushing or receiving yardage, touchdowns, and other typical statistics.

They’ll come in either over/under format or milestones.

For example:

  • C.J. Carr Over/Under 219.5 Passing Yards (Over -115 / Under -115)
  • C.J. Carr 220+ Pass Yards (-115); 240+ Pass Yards (+115); 275+ Pass Yards (+200)

Player props can be bet on their own, but are also very commonly used as the building blocks of same game parlays.

How College Football Props Differ From NFL Props

College props and NFL props are the same in practice, but can be very different in availability, depth and price.

NFL player props are available in every legal sports betting state, while college props are restricted in some states. You will also find fewer players available in college player prop markets, as well as a lower betting limits.

There are just so many teams and players in college football, and the talent gap between the top and bottom of the sport (or even the top and middle) is so large that projections are much tougher to make, compared to the NFL.

Types of College Football Player Props

While there not be as many, player props for college football do look very similar to their pro counterparts, and come in many of the same markets.

Passing Yards Props

College football passing yards props cover how many passing yards a quarterback will have in a game, as decided by the official NCAA statistics. They will come in over/under or milestone formats, much like the CJ Carr example I provided above.

Passing Touchdown Props

College football passing TD props are bets on how many touchdown passes a player will finish a game with. This only covers passing TDs, and is different than the anytime TD market, as the quarterback does not have to carry the ball over the goal line himself.

Rushing Yards Props

For the most part, college football rushing yards props are what you’d expect: betting markets on how many rushing yards a player will have in a game.

A major difference here between the NFL and college, however, is how sacks are graded. For college players, sack yardage is counted against your rushing total, while in the NFL it is not. So, be careful of that when betting a quaterback’s rushing line.

That being said, the prevalence of RPOs and the option in college does mean plenty of quarterbacks are racking up rushing yards and finding their way into these markets.

Receiving Yards and Receptions Props

College football receiving yards props and receptions props are pretty straightforward as well, covering how many receiving yards and how many receptions a player will finish with. These markets will feature receivers, tight ends and running backs.

Receiving yards prop markets are more readily available than reception props.

Anytime Touchdown Scorer Props

College football anytime touchdown scorer props are scored exactly the same way as their NFL counterparts. If a player carries the ball over the goal line for a touchdown, they cash the bet.

A quarterback throwing a pass that results in a touchdown will not count for the QB.

You will see much shorter odds for college players than you will for NFL players, as the games are higher scoring, and the stars score more often.

First Touchdown Scorer Props

A first TD scorer prop has all the mechanics of an anytime TD scorer prop, but it must be the first touchdown scored in a game in order to win. Not for their team, but overall.

Which States Allow College Football Player Props?

After many states have determined the risk for student athlete abuse/harassment and potential manipulation is too great, there are only select states remaining where college football player props can be legally bet.

If you find yourself in one of the following states, you can still bet CFB player props in 2026:

  • Arkansas
  • Connecticut*
  • Delaware*
  • Illinois*
  • Indiana
  • Kansas
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • Missouri*
  • Montana
  • Nebraska*
  • Nevada
  • New Hampshire*
  • New Jersey*
  • New Mexico
  • North Carolina
  • North Dakota
  • Rhode Island*
  • Washington, DC*
  • Wyoming

*CFB player props are only allowed for out-of-state schools

States Where CFB Player Props Are Banned

If you find yourself in one of the following states, you cannot bet CFB player props:

  • Arizona
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Iowa
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • Mississippi
  • New York
  • Ohio
  • Oregon
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Dakota
  • Tennessee
  • Vermont
  • Virginia
  • Washington
  • West Virginia

States That Restrict Props on In-State Teams

In Connecticut, Illinois, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Missouri and Nebraska, you cannot bet on in-state schools.

For many of those states, that’s not that big of a deal. Players in Rhode Island aren’t drawing much betting volume.

But you cannot bet on an anytime TD scorer as a bettor in Nebraska in a game where the Cornhuskers are playing. That’s significant.

  • Make sure you’re in a state where college player props are available.
  • Choose one of the sportsbooks above and either search for the specific market you want to bet on (I would recommend typing in the player’s name if you’re searching), or by finding the game you’re looking for in the sportsbook’s college football menu.
  • Before placing your bet, check other sportsbooks to make sure you’re getting the best line and price on the prop.
  • Once you’ve found the best price, place your bet or add it as a leg to your SGP.

College Football Player Prop Betting Strategy

There are, of course, some deeper college football player prop strategies that I would advise following.

Target Pace and Play Volume

Some college teams play incredibly fast, and it’s not uncommon to see players at mid-tier and lower level schools put up insane stat lines.

By studying how fast a team plays, you can find potential profit opportunities in college yardage props.

On the other hand, be wary of teams that play slow, particularly service academies and other option-based teams that shrink the game by eating huge chunks of clock with their run games.

Fade the Blowout Spots

College football rosters are massive, so unlike the NFL where starters will play deep into a blowout, some college games will see reserves taking all the reps for an entire second half.

In college, coaches see this as an opportunity to get meaningful snaps for younger players who are the future of their program. It can also mean your player props is doomed, though, because the player you bet on only got to play for six possessions.

Read Depth Charts and Injury News

Colleges are not required to release the same type of injury reports that NFL teams are, so you’re going to have to pay closer attention and search for news.

Weekly depth charts can provide insight, but look for reports from journalists on the ground to make sure the player you’re betting on, or a key factor in his success, is going to be playing.

Account for Weather and Venue

Weather plays a major factor in football, especially as you get into November. Watch weather reports leading up to the game to make sure that it will be favorable for your bets. Or as favorable as possible.

Extended travel is also a bigger issue in college, as the accommodations are not as grandiose as you’ll find in the NFL, where even they struggle on cross-country trips.

Why College Football Props Offer More Value Than NFL Props

While the lighter volume of college player props and lower betting limits might make it feel like it’s harder to profit off them than their NFL counterparts, that’s not actually the case.

Sportsbooks are going to be fully locked in on the marquee matchups each week, but for lesser FBS games, there are going to be soft spots that you can pounce on.

The bookmakers are still smarter than you overall, but they aren’t going to be spending too much time on the Temple vs. Rice matchup in Week 3.

College Football Props vs. DFS Pick’em and Prediction Markets

The best DFS sites and prediction markets also have their own version of college football player props, and you might even be able to jump on them in states where they’re otherwise banned.

DFS pick’em contests allow you to pick higher or lower on certain stats, which essentially serve as over/under props.

At prediction markets, which are federally regulated by the CFTC and therefore available across the country, they will literally be listed as player props. You can buy yes or no contracts on those props in much the same way you would bet on the over or under at a sportsbook.
