  • Finding an edge when betting the spread can be very difficult for the most professional bettors
  • Knowing when and how to tease spreads can dramatically increase the probability of covering
  • See the three teased ATS picks I am parlaying for Week 6 in the NFL

Trying to find an edge in betting the spread in the NFL week-after-week is an incredibly difficult task. This is why the most successful bettors only cover the spread around 57-59% of the time. But you can dramatically improve your probability of covering by teasing the spreads through key numbers. Looking to the 13 remaining games on the Week 6 schedule, ten of them fall within the ideal range for teasing through the two key numbers of 3 and 7 in NFL spread betting.

Three of those ten games possess one team who holds significant advantages in key statistical categories for predicting outcomes, and these three teams, after teasing their spreads, have become the three legs for my favorite high-probability NFL parlay for Week 6.

Best NFL ATS Parlay for Week 6

LegPickOdds
1Kansas City Chiefs -2.5-321
2San Francisco 49ers -1.5-359
3Atlanta Falcons +7.5-348
TOTAL3-LEG PARLAY+115

The Chiefs, 49ers, and Falcons are all showing notable advantages over their Week 6 opponents, but to really improve the probability of this Week 6 NFL parlay cashing, I am teasing the spreads of each to get through the key numbers of 3 and 7. The historical probability of this specific range for teasing spreads dramatically increases the cover rate.

Each of these bets as singles comes with very short odds – not offering much of a payout – but when parlayed together, offers appealing +115 total odds. Let me dive into why each of these three teams were identified as the stronger team in their respective matchup.

Kansas City Chiefs -2.5

The first leg of this high-probability NFL parlay for Week 6 is the Chiefs teased down to -2.5 against the Chargers. LA has been the most disappointing team in the league so far, as they remain winless. Not only have the Chiefs looked like one of the best teams in the league so far, they also hold some big advantages over the Chargers in their matchup.

Here are the key metrics that have me betting the Chiefs:

  1. Huge success rate differential advantage (+12.6%)
  2. Chargers pressure rate allowed is very concerning (32.3% of dropbacks)
  3. Big net yards per play advantage (+1.83)

While the Chargers defense has remained pretty good this season, only allowing a success rate of 44.5%, their offense has been awful, only producing a success rate of 42.2%. Kansas City’s offense has been very efficient, boasting a success rate of 53.2%.

Part of this is LA’s inability to protect Justin Herbert, who is pressured on nearly a third of his dropbacks. The Chiefs have only generated pressure on 23.2% of their opponents’ passing plays, but the weak Chargers offensive line hasn’t been able to handle anyone this season.

I know this is an AFC West battle, but there is a clear better team in this matchup, and that is the Chiefs.

San Francisco 49ers -1.5

The matchup with the biggest advantage on one side in Week 6 is the Commanders at 49ers on MNF. San Francisco holds massive advantages over Washington in several of the metrics I look to for determining an edge.

The most obvious one is the 49ers advantage in success rate differential. I like to see an advantage of 6% or greater in this category to call it a true edge, but San Francisco holds a massive +15.9% advantage. I do appreciate that Washington’s offense is going to be better with Jayden Daniels under center, but he does not make up this entire gap. The 49ers have simply been too efficient on offense.

To go with that, the Niners also hold a big advantage in net yards per play, where they net out to +1.75 yards per play, while Washington comes in at -0.34, which is concerning if you’re a Commander fan/backer. Washington’s +1 turnover margin per game suggests they’ve gotten lucky to be where they are right now, and their net yards per play and low success rate is going to catch up with them.

I like the 49ers to cover the standard spread in this one, but love them to cover the teased spread of -1.5 in this parlay.

Atlanta Falcons +7.5

The final leg of my Week 6 NFL parlay is the Falcons teased to +7.5 as they take on the Bears. Atlanta’s underlying metrics are mostly pretty good. They have just been plagued by turnovers. The Falcons have thrown seven interceptions in five games, but only one of those belongs to Michael Penix Jr, who expects to start today in spite of the rib injury he sustained last week. Cooper Rush threw four interceptions in less than two full games, Jack Strand threw one in cleanup duty, and Tua Tagovailoa threw one to end the game against Baltimore last week.

Atlanta’s net yards per play is a very respectable +0.81, but their turnover margin per game is -1. With Penix Jr under center, the Falcons have the makings of a good team:

  • Boast a +6% success rate
  • Only allow pressure on 15.9% of passing plays
  • Generate pressure on 25.3% of opponents’ passing plays
  • Score touchdowns on 69.2% of their red zone drives

The Bears do get Caleb Williams back under center, but even he didn’t fare too well in his last game, which came against another defense who generates consistent pressure on the QB. He has also missed three weeks, and it’s reasonable to assume he won’t be as sharp in his first game back. On top of that, one of the backs they lean on in the ground game (Kyle Monangai) will miss this one.

All the signs point to Atlanta being the better team right now, as long as they don’t turn the ball over at the rate they have.
