Monday’s NHL player props card is short, but two games stand out. Vegas visits Boston at 7 pm ET, and Colorado heads to Chicago an hour later at 8 pm ET.
I’m sticking to shots on goal tonight in the NHL player props market. Shot volume leans on usage and shooting habits, which hold up better than goals over a small sample. Here are my Monday NHL player props, including the best shots on goal picks for Nov. 2.
Monday NHL Player Props
Keep in mind a season average isn’t a hit rate. A player averaging 3.33 shots can still finish with two or fewer in plenty of games, since one big night props up the number.
Compare the juice across NHL betting apps before puck drop tonight, and pass if an Over gets too expensive.
Best NHL Shots on Goal Picks for Monday
I’m starting my Monday NHL shots on goal picks in Boston, where both teams bring a shooter I like.
1. David Pastrnak Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Pick: David Pastrnak Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-175 at bet365)
David Pastrnak has put 50 shots on net through 15 games, good for 3.33 per game. That’s the best rate of my three picks and sits comfortably above the 2.5 target.
The production backs up the volume, with eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points in 20:21 a night. Vegas allows 2.93 goals per game and carries a 27.3% power play, so Boston may need to keep pushing for offense.
He’s my strongest shots play on the card. Still, I wouldn’t play this line at anything shorter than -175, since a steep price eats into the edge.
2. Cale Makar Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Pick: Cale Makar Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-125 at theScore Bet)
Norris Trophy odds candidate Cale Makar has 37 shots in 13 games, an average of 2.85 per night. He also leads this trio in ice time at 22:35 per game, which gives him more chances to fire from the blueline.
His 12 assists and 15 points show how involved he is, even with only three goals. Colorado scores 4.21 goals per game and runs a 20.5% power play, so the Avs should spend plenty of time in Chicago’s end.
Chicago allows 3.79 goals per game and kills penalties at just 79.5%. Makar’s 2.85 average gives him a cushion over 2.5, though it’s thinner than Pastrnak’s.
3. Jack Eichel Over 2.5 Shots on Goal
- Pick: Jack Eichel Over 2.5 Shots on Goal (-135 at bet365)
I’m heading back to Boston to wrap up my NHL shots on goal picks with Jack Eichel. He has 38 shots in 15 games, or 2.53 per game for the Stanley Cup odds contending Golden Knights, which barely sits above the 2.5 target.
That’s the slimmest margin on this card, so the price matters most here. A tiny average edge doesn’t leave room for heavy juice, and I’d only play this Over at anything worse than -135 odds.
Eichel is still driving the Vegas attack with seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 19:40 per game. Boston allows just 2.40 goals per game, though, so he’ll have to earn his looks on the road.
