  • Checking the San Francisco 49ers vs Seattle Seahawks inactive and injury reports for Thursday Night Football, 49ers WR Deebo Samuel (ankle) is out
  • Seattle will be getting back RB Kenneth Walker III after he was missing last week due to an ankle injury
  • San Francisco QB Brock Purdy (oblique, ribs) is showing on the injury report as questionable

Entering the Week 15 Thursday Night Football game, the San Francisco 49ers will be missing a key component of their offense, while the Seattle Seahawks will be welcoming back a vital element of their attack.

San Francisco WR Deebo Samuel (ankle) is out. He was carted off the field during last Sunday’s 35-7 rout of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In their 30-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Seahawks were playing without rookie RB Kenneth Walker III. He was missing due to an ankle injury. However, Walker is without an injury designation this week and is good to go.

The 49ers, who’ve won five in a row straight up, are 3-point road favorites over the Seahawks in the NFL odds. Seattle is 12-2 against the spread in the last 14 home games against San Francisco.

Kickoff at Lumen Field is set for 8:15 pm ET on Thursday, December 15. In the 49ers vs Seahawks picks, Seattle is 10-1 SU in the last 11 home games against San Francisco. The 49ers are 5-1 ATS in their last six games.

The people are solidly with the oddsmakers in backing the 49ers in spread wagering in the 49ers vs Seahawks public betting splits. San Francisco is co-fourth betting pick in the Super Bowl odds at +800.

San Francisco 49ers Injury Report

Originally believed to have suffered a high ankle sprain, further tests were revealing that Samuel’s injuries were instead MCL and ankle sprains. He’ll be out of action for a minimum of three weeks. He’s leading the club in receptions (54) and is second in receiving yards (612). Samuel has caught two touchdown passes and run for three scores.

On offense, QB Brock Purdy (oblique, ribs) is listed as questionable. He was handed the reins of the team last week with QB1 Jimmy Garoppolo (foot) out.

Starting LDT Kevin Givens (knee) is out. Backup CB Samuel Womack (concussion) is out and backup CB Ambry Thomas (ankle) is questionable. Safety Tarvarius Moore (knee) is out.

Seattle Seahawks Injury Report

Two defensive starters are questionable for the Seahawks. NT Al Woods (Achilles) did not participate in practice on Wednesday. Neither did SS Ryan Neal (knee).

There’s serious issues within the Seattle secondary in terms of depth. Backup safety Joey Blount (back) and CB Tre Brown (illness) are also listed as questionable. Safeties Josh Jones and Jamal Adams and CB Isaiah Dunn are all on IR.

On offense, RB DeeJay Dallas (ankle) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. He’s also Seattle’s main man on kickoff and punt returns, so if he’s limited it could also impact special teams play for the Seahawks. However, it’s worth noting that Godwin Igwebuike was a sensation filling in for Dallas last week. Activated from the practice roster last week to fill in for an inactive Dallas, he returned three kicks for 104 yards.

How Could Injuries Affect 49ers vs Seahawks Lines?

Purdy insists that he’s fine and will be playing Thursday night. He suffered an oblique strain late in the win over Tampa Bay. Purdy gave way to veteran Josh Johnson for the final 11 minutes of the game.

RB Christian McCaffrey (knee) had his injury designation lifted. He was questionable earlier in the week. McCaffrey rambled for 119 yards on just 14 carries against the Buccaneers. He’s certainly a prime consideration in the 49ers vs Seahawks player props, so the removal of his injury designation is of the utmost significance to both the 49ers and to player prop bettors.

Likewise, seeing the questionable status lifted from next to RDT Arik Armstead (foot) is a boost for the San Francisco defense. The 49ers defensive front is banged up. Along with Givens, DT Hassan Ridgeway (pectoral) and DT Kalia Davis (undisclosed) are out. DT Javon Kinlaw and DT Maurice Hurst are both on IR. DE Kerry Hyder (ankle) is questionable.

For the Seahawks, Walker’s return is a welcome sight regardless. He’s leading the team in rushing (649 yards) and rushing TDS (nine) and is the second betting choice in the NFL OROY odds. However, it’s even more important with the uncertainty surrounding the status of Dallas.

On the defensive side of the ball, any absence of Neal would be of concern.  A ball hawk, he’s third on the team with 61 tackles, along with one interception and a forced fumble.
