The AFC South title is on the line when the staggering Tennessee Titans visit the surging Jacksonville Jaguars at 8:15 pm ET Saturday at TIAA Bank Stadium.

The division title goes to the winner while the loser will miss the playoffs. The Jaguars would also be the champions if the game ends in a tie.

The Titans (7-9, 4-4 road) are on a six-game losing streak after falling to the Dallas Cowboys 27-13 at home on December 29. The Jaguars (8-8, 4-3 home) beat the Texans 31-3 on Sunday in Houston to win their fourth straight game.

The game will be televised by ESPN.

Titans vs Jaguars Recent History

The Jaguars beat the Titans 36-22 on December 11 in Nashville. Trevor Lawrence passed for 368 yards and three touchdowns, and tight end Evan Engram caught 11 passes for 162 yards and two TDs.

The Titans have won in their last two trips to Jacksonville.

Titans Offense vs Jaguars Defense

Journeyman Joshua Dobbs will start at quarterback for the Titans. He made his first career start last week against the Cowboys and the sixth-year pro completed 20 of 39 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown with one interception.

The Titans had started rookie Malik Willis at quarterback in the first two games after Ryan Tannehill sustained a season-ending ankle injury. Coach Mike Vrabel then switched to Dobbs, who was signed off of the Detroit Lions’ practice squad on December 21, after Willis was ineffective.

The 39 attempts by Dobbs were the most by a Titans’ QB this season. However, it is doubtful Tennessee will go to the air that many times in this matchup, despite the Jaguars being 30th in the league against the pass, as running back Derrick Henry will return to the lineup after sitting out last week with a hip injury.

Henry, the two-time NFL rushing champion is third in the league this season with 1,429 yards. His 13 rushing touchdowns are second.

Jaguars Offense vs Titans Defense

Engram proved to be a nightmare matchup for the Titans last month as he had an outstanding game.

The Jaguars are one of two NFL teams with three players with 60 or more receptions this season – wide receiver Christian Kirk (78 for 1,009 yards), wide receiver Zay Jones (78 for 802) and Engram (69 for 739). They could become the second trio in NFL history to have at least 800 yards receiving in their first season with a team since the Miami Dolphins in 1993.

While Lawrence, a +50000 longshot in the NFL MVP odds, has been provided with many more weapons in his second season in the league, he will need to be aware of Titans safety Kevin Byard. Since making his debut in 2016, Byard has 27 interceptions, second-most in the league behind the Miami Dolphins’ Xavien Howard’s 28 during that span.

Tennessee should also have outside linebacker Denico Autry (biceps) and defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons (ankle) together for just the second time in the last seven games. Autry leads the Titans with eight sacks and Simmons has 7.5.

Titans vs Jaguars Injury Report

Titans cornerback Davontae Harris (hamstring) has been ruled out. Listed as questionable are outside linebacker Dylan Cole (ankle), cornerback Kristian Fulton (groin), safety Amani Hooker (knee), offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere (ankle) and wide receiver Treylon Burks (groin).

Lawrence is listed as questionable for the Jaguars but is expected to play. Also questionable are defensive back Andrew Wingard (shoulder), outside linebacker Travon Walker (ankle), long snapper Ross Matiscik (back), guard Brandon Scherff (abdomen/ankle), defensive end Foley Fatukasi (ankle) and safety Rayshawn Jenkins (shoulder).

Titans vs Jaguars Prediction

The Jaguars are rolling under first-year coach Doug Pederson while the wheels have fallen off for the Titans. Look for Jacksonville to easily qualify for the playoffs for the first time since 2017 and end Tennessee’s two-year reign as AFC South champion.

Pick: Jaguars -6.5 (-105)
