Packers 8-Point Favorites Over Patriots

The Packers (2-1) have opened as eight-point favorites against the Patriots after beating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14-12 on the road Sunday. The Patriots (1-2) lost to the Ravens 37-26 at home.

Aaron Rodgers threw for 255 yards and two touchdowns for the Packers. The TDs came on Green Bay’s first two possessions, 5 yards to Romeo Doubs and 6 yards to Allen Lazard. The Packers then held on.

Patriots quarterback Mac Jones sustained a leg injury late in the fourth quarter and left the game after completing 22 of 32 passes for 321 yards but throwing three interceptions. DeVante Parker had five receptions for 156 yards.

Cardinals Slim Favorites Over Panthers

The Cardinals (1-2) are one-point road favorite over the Panthers (1-2) at Charlotte. The Cardinals dropped a 20-12 decision to the Los Angeles Rams at home Sunday while the Panther notched their first win, beating the visiting New Orleans Saints 22-14.

Kyler Murray was 37-of-58 passing for the Cardinals for 314 yards, but they were held to four field goals. Marquise Brown caught 14 passes for 140 yards.

The Panthers used big plays to snap a nine-game losing streak. Laviska Shenault caught a 67-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield and, Marquis Haynes returned a fumble 44 yards for a score.

Highest and Lowest NFL Week 4 Game Totals

The oddsmakers expect the Bills and Ravens to have a shootout, setting the total at 54.5 points, the biggest number on the Week 4 slate. Baltimore is averaging 33.0 points and the Bills 30.3

Conversely, the 40 points for the Bears’ visit to the Giants is the lowest total on the board. The Giants are scoring 20.0 points a game and the Bears 17.1.

Early NFL Week 4 Predictions

Chargers vs Texans Early Odds & Prediction

The Los Angeles Chargers (1-2) have lost two in a row and quarterback Justin Herbert is hurting as they travel to Houston to play the Texans (0-2-1). Yet the Chargers being favored by 6.5 points seems just a tad low.

Yes, the Chargers were beaten 38-10 at home by the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. However, Herbert is playing with torn rib cartilage and will eventually acclimate to playing with the injury as he possesses plenty of toughness.

The Texans lost by just three points on the road, but it was to the Bears 20-17. While the Las Vegas Raiders (0-3) have the worst record in the league, there is little doubt the Texans are the worst team.

Pick: Chargers -6.5 (-110)

Bills vs Ravens Early Odds & Prediction

The Bills have opened as 3.5-point favorites over the Ravens in a matchup of 2-1 teams. Buffalo took its first loss of the season Sunday, 21-19 on the road against the Dolphins, while the Ravens beat the New England Patriots 37-26 in Foxborough.

The Bills’ Josh Allen was 42-of-63 passing for 400 yards after completing his first 11 attempts for the first time in his career. He had touchdown passes to Devin Singletary and Isaiah McKenzie.

Lamar Jackson threw four touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Ravens. Justin Tucker kicked a 56-yard field goals, the 50th of his career from 50 yards or more.

The Bills are the best team in the league despite Sunday’s loss and will get back on track in what should be a fun game.

The Pick: Bills -3.5 (-106)

Chiefs vs Buccaneers Early Odds and Prediction

In a rematch of Super Bowl LV at the end of the 2020 season, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs visit Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the same site – Raymond James Stadium.

Both teams are 2-1 after losing for the first time this season Sunday and the Chiefs are favored by 2.5 points. Kansas City lost to the Colts 20-17 on the road while the Buccaneers fell to the Packers by two points at home.

The Buccaneers were held without a touchdown into the fourth quarter for a second straight week. Brady’s 1-yard TD pass to Russell Gage with 14 seconds left capped a 90-yard drive but Tampa Bay missed a two-point conversion that would have tied the game.

The Chiefs allowed the Colts to drive 76 yards in 16 plays to score the winning touchdown with 24 seconds left. Mahomes fell to 13-3 in September while going 20 of 35 for 262 yards with one TD and his first interception of the season.

One can wonder if age is catching up to the 45-year-old Brady. Perhaps, but he is but he’s still worth taking as a home underdog.

Pick: Buccaneers +2.5 (-106)
