With an 8-4-1 road record and four straight victories away from him, it’s a bit surprising that the Jets are -105 underdogs in this matchup, but that still gives them an implied win probability of 51.22%. On the other hand, Vancouver’s probability to win is 55.56% with moneyline odds set at -125.

Jets Road Warriors Recently

The Jets have played well all season, but have been great on the road as of late. Over their current four-game road win streak, they’ve outscored their opponents 20-9 for an average winning score line of 5-2.

Connor Hellebuyck has been lights out and should be one of the current favorites in the Vezina Trophy odds, a trophy he captured in the 2019-2020 season. Although he hasn’t faced Vancouver this season, the Jets netminder got lit up for five goals on 33 shots the only time he squared up against them last year.

With Hellebuyck sitting fourth in the league in goals against average and second in save percentage amongst goalies who have played at least 15 games, the Jets have hit the under more often than not this campaign. However, that trend has changed a bit recently, as they’ve gone over the betting line in five of their last seven.

Surprisingly, unheralded defenseman Josh Morrissey leads the squad with 33 points. The 27-year-old blueliner also is the only player on the team who has a plus/minus in the double digits at +12 and garners the most ice time with the Jets, clocking in at 23:26 per game. This might be a smart longshot bet in the Norris Trophy odds.

Canucks Rebound After Rough Start

October was very unkind to Vancouver as they were the last team in the league to register a victory after starting the season with seven straight losses. However, over the last month, they’ve been one of the better teams in the NHL, tied with Winnipeg for eighth in the league with a .667 points percentage.

While the Canucks have struggled at home this season, the Jets arrive at a time when the West Coast team is playing some solid hockey, having won four of their last five. They’ve also taken four of the last five from Winnipeg.

Trade rumors continue to swirl around Canucks captain Bo Horvat who apparently rejected what has been reported as the Canucks best contract offer to extend him beyond this year. It seems to be just a matter of time before the centreman gets dealt.

Despite that, Vancouver is winning and Horvat is a big part of that. His 21 goals this season have him tied for fourth in the league. This is a player that was nowhere to be seen in the Rocket Richard trophy odds before the season started.

Jets vs Canucks Pick & Prediction

Either team can take this contest as clearly shown when looking at the NHL odds for each side in this game. Where the best betting action is, lies in the over/under total.

Many Canadian players get amped up for nationally televised Saturday night games as their families tune in across the country. Vancouver also scores a lot and gives up a lot. They’re eighth in the league with 3.45 goals per game, but also sit third from last on defense giving up 3.83 per in their own end.

Expect the home side to go for a run-and-gun affair against their Canadian opponents to the East. Our prediction here is that the stars will shine and combine for more than 6.5 goals in the late game on Hockey Night in Canada.

Pick: Over 6.5 Goals (-105)
