Los Angeles rolls into Vancouver after a convincing 3-1 win in Edmonton on Wednesday night. Behind a hat trick from Trevor Moore, three assists from Viktor Arvidsson, and suffocating defense, the Kings climbed to four games over .500.

The Canucks held on to defeat the Buffalo Sabres 5-4. That raised Vancouver’s record to 5-9-1. They have lost three of their previous four games.

The Kings now have the 16th-best Stanley Cup odds at +3500 to win the Stanley Cup, while Vancouver has seen its numbers lengthen to +7500.

Puck drop is set for 10:00 pm ET at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia with Sportsnet West providing the broadcast coverage in Canada and Bally Sports West in the United States (ESPN+ stream).

Los Angeles Kings Betting Analysis

Los Angeles gave the Edmonton Oilers some of their own medicine on Wednesday night. Trevor Moore scored all three goals en route to a 3-1 win in Edmonton. That moved the Kings’ record up to 11-7-1 on the season.

The Los Angeles Kings keep their fans and bettors alike on their toes. Los Angeles held Edmonton to only 23 shots on goal. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl had just one shot each. Now, the Kings are kind of all or nothing. Either, a bunch of goals get scored or very few goals occur. There is little in-between.

Edmonton noted how hard it is to play Los Angeles. The Kings showed how their balance goes beyond their youth. Look out!

Vancouver Canucks Betting Analysis

The Vancouver Canucks displayed signs of life winning two out of three games and now have dropped three of their previous four contests. Even the 5-4 win in Buffalo was not without nearly blowing another multiple-goal lead. The over has connected in eight of the last ten tilts for Vancouver.

The problems with Vancouver are numerous. One of their top leaders is all but out the door according to rumors. Their goaltending and team defense is in shambles. Their penalty kill is at a league-worst 63.8% while taking 13.1 penalty minutes per contest (30th). That partially explains the Canucks’ allowing 4.06 goals a game.

Also, even with the Canucks’ offensive proficiency, they have not been able to outscore their defensive miscues and problems. Thatcher Demko dropped (+5000), for now, to 16th in the odds to win the Vezina Trophy. The goaltender is 1-8-2 on the season and only has a .874 save percentage. He needs to pick it up along with the Canucks’ team defense.

Kings vs Canucks Prediction

Vancouver comes home for a brief two-game mini homestand as the Kings and Canucks are the only game on Friday night. Los Angeles plays in Vancouver on Friday and Seattle on Saturday night.

Kings vs Canucks Same-Game Parlay Picks

Pick Odds
Vancouver Total Over 3.5 Goals +150
J.T. Miller Anytime Goal +175
PARLAY ODDS  +380

The Kings are projected to start Jonathan Quick as Cal Petersen is supposed to start on Saturday in Seattle. Vancouver counters likely with Thatcher Demko. Both goalies expect to see a ton of scoring chances. Demko has given up three or more goals in every start this season. Also, Los Angeles allows 3.37 goals per game and is just 25th on the penalty kill at 75%.

Expect the unexpected with so many trends heading towards the under tonight. Maybe, Vancouver winning seven of the last eight meetings finds a way to make it eight of nine.

Pick: Vancouver Canucks ML (-105)
