Odds as of March 24th at DraftKings Sportsbook.
A big injury to monitor ahead of the action is the status of UCLA’s Jamie Jaquez Jr. The Bruins second leading scorer suffered an ankle injury in the Round of 32 and is questionable to play on Friday versus UNC. It appears that Jaquez is trending towards being active, but even if he suits up there’s a strong chance his injured ankle limits his effectiveness.
Regardless if Jaquez is active, we should expect leading scorer Johnny Juzang to take on more of the offensive responsibilities. In the lone game he played this season without Jacquez, Juzang put up 24 points versus Oregon State, getting to the free throw line a season-best 11 times.

The matchup versus the Tar Heels is likely going to call for him to put up a big game, as UNC enters play averaging 94 points per outing so far during March Madness. North Carolina is an exceptional offensive team, but struggles in its own end. They rank 235th in scoring defense, and 292nd in opponent field goal makes per game.

Juzang has underwhelmed recently, but don’t forget this was a player who was a serious contender in the Wooden Award odds at one point this season. He’s averaging 15.7 points per game, and scored at least 20 points in six of eight outings in late January and early February. In eight career NCAA Tournament games he’s averaging 18.8 points.
The next bet to target is the under on the point total of Purdue’s Sasha Stefanovic. The 6-5 senior is exclusively a three-point shooter at this point, and not a very good one lately. Stefanovic has failed to clear 6 points in five straight games, going 5-for-26 from beyond the arc during that stretch.
The Boilermakers are looking more and more live to be one of the last four teams standing in the Final Four odds, and if they succeed at squashing Saint Peter’s Cinderella run on Friday, it won’t be thanks to their jump shooters.

The Peacocks are a tenacious defending team, but lack size in the front court. That spells trouble against Purdue, who feature elite twin towers Zach Edey and Trevion Williams. No Saint Peter’s starter stands taller than 6-8, so look for the Boilermakers to boost their stock in the NCAA Tournament odds by feeding their bigs.
