For the third time in four years, Patrick Mahomes has led the Chiefs to the Super Bowl. The Kansas City quarterback is 1-1 in the big game so far in his career and currently, his Chiefs are 1.5-point underdogs. A second Lombardi Trophy would only grow the legend of the 27-year-old pivot and we’re looking at some of his best Super Bowl props to bet here.

Kickoff for Super Bowl 57 goes at 6:30 pm on Sunday, February 12th with FOX providing the broadcast coverage. Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen will have the call from State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona between the Eagles and Chiefs.

Below, we lay out the early Super Bowl props for Mahomes and his teammates, as they currently sit at plus-money in the Super Bowl odds.

Perhaps the biggest matchup within the game will be the league’s best quarterback going against the NFL’s top-rated passing defense. Even with a bum ankle, Mahomes threw for well over 300 yards last week, but he’ll be facing a much stronger pash rush on Super Bowl Sunday.

Any action on the Kansas City quarterback will be amongst the most common Super Bowl prop bets, as everybody likes to bet on the stars.

Chiefs’ Prop Pick #1: Patrick Mahomes Under Passing Yards

Public bettors are liking the favorite in the NFL MVP odds to pad the stats in the big game as the total on his passing yards has already gone up since the opening Super Bowl player props odds were released.

This will undoubtedly be one of the most popular Super Bowl prop bets, but we’re going to fade the public here. Four times during the regular season, Mahomes faced one of the top 10 rated passing defenses, and he threw for over 290 yards in just two of those matchups.

Mahomes vs Top 10 Passing Defenses

Date Opponent Passing Yards
December 18th Houston Texans 336
November 21st Los Angeles Chargers 320
October 3rd Tampa Bay Buccaneers 249
September 16th Los Angeles Chargers 235

None of those teams were ranked in the top five in passing defense. Philly, was number one, allowing under 180 yards per game through the air. In addition, Showtime has never topped 290 yards in his previous Super Bowl appearances.

Everybody loves to cheer for offense and bet on the over, but in the Kansas City props, the smart play is to take plus-money and bet on Mahomes to pass for less than 290 against a stout Philly D.

Chiefs Prop Pick: Patrick Mahomes Under 290.5 passing yards (+100)

Chiefs’ Prop Pick #2: Travis Kelce Under Receptions

Our other prediction in the Super Bowl props for the Chiefs is to take their monster tight end to finish the game with under 7.5 catches. If there’s one area in which Eagles defensive coordinator, Jonathan Gannon, will key in on, it’s stopping the Mahomes and Travis Kelce connection.

After making a ridiculous 14 catches in the AFC Divisional playoff game against Jacksonville, Kelce snatched seven balls against Cincinnati in the AFC Championship. It was actually up in the air whether he would even play or not against the Bengals, as the fun-loving big man was dealing with serious back spasms.

Sure, that may have contributed to him catching less balls, but including the playoffs, he has only had more than 7.5 receptions in two of his last 11 games. With Philly likely intent on taking that option away as much as possible, we love the play on the under here in our Chiefs player props.

Chiefs Prop Pick: Travis Kelce Under 7.5 Receptions (-150)

Chiefs Touchdown Props

Player Odds to Score First TD Odds to Score Anytime TD
Travis Kelce +700 -125
Isiah Pacheco +800 +115
Jerick McKinnon +1100 +165
Kadarius Toney +1800 +230
Marquez Valdes-Scantling +1800 +225
Juju Smith-Schuster +2000 +245
Patrick Mahomes +2800 +475

Unsurprisingly, Kelce is the odds-on favorite in the online Super Bowl prop bets to score a touchdown at -125 in the Chiefs props. If you haven’t opened an account with a sportsbook yet and are curious, you can find the best USA betting sites by clicking here.

Chiefs Props – Touchdown Picks

While Jerick McKinnon takes a back seat to Isiah Pacheco in the Chiefs’ backfield, the bulky tailback scored nine touchdowns in the final six games of the regular season.

He was able to score two majors in three of those games. Equally adept at catching the ball out of the backfield as well as running it, he will definitely be a go-to option for Mahomes if Kelce is blanketed. Eight of those nine scores in the last six regular-season contests came through the air.

Given his +165 value, we feel betting on the veteran to find the end zone is a solid pick here. If you want to learn more about Super Bowl prop bets explained, you get up to speed prior to the big game for your Super Bowl props.
