With the draw for Qatar 2022 being held on Friday, CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying officially wraps up on Wednesday. Canada, who have already secured their spot on the grand stage later this year, will visit Panama on the final matchday. The kick-off is scheduled for 9:05 PM EST in Panama City.

Canadians can look forward to betting on Team Canada at this year’s World Cup, now that legal Canada sports betting is set to launch next week on April 4.

The Canucks celebrated on Sunday after a huge 4-0 victory over Jamaica in Toronto, soaking it all in as they head to their first World Cup since 1986. A draw here will be enough to finish in top spot. Panama meanwhile, is coming off a 5-1 defeat at the hands of the United States and will be simply looking to finish the qualifying campaign with a respectable result.

The reverse fixture between the two sides in October saw Canada run out as 4-1 winners, with Alphonso Davies scoring a world-class solo goal that made headlines worldwide.

Disappointing Campaign For Panama

The Panamanians were never expected to be a serious contender in the octagon, but they didn’t end up that far out of potentially qualifying. Heading into Wednesday’s match, Thomas Christiansen’s side is four points behind Costa Rica, who will be very likely heading to a playoff against an Oceania country for the opportunity to progress to Qatar.

Panama has just one win to show for in their last six outings though, losing two of the previous three to Mexico and most recently, the States. The side was frankly outplayed by the Americans, heading into halftime already down four goals. The Panamanians actually controlled 60% of the ball, but every opportunity went the way of the US, with Christian Pulisic bagging a hat-trick.

On a more positive note, Panama is 3-3-0 in qualifying on home soil, which is definitely a good sign ahead of a tough clash with Canada, who destroyed them in October.

Canada Looking to Finish Strong

The Canadians have already reached their ultimate goal, but there is absolutely no doubt John Herdman’s men will be hungry to finish with another three points and put themselves in the best possible position for Friday’s draw in Doha. There’s honestly no other way to describe Canada’s qualifying campaign than absolutely breathtaking.

Les Rouges are 8-4-1, with their only defeat coming last week against Costa Rica in San Jose but even then, the Canucks dominated, the end product just lacked. Nevertheless, Herdman’s group responded with authority at BMO Field over the weekend in fine fashion, outclassing the Reggae Boyz in every way imaginable.

Just 13 minutes in, Stephen Eustaquio found Cyle Larin with a crafty through ball in which the Besiktas man clinically slotted home. Just a minute before the halftime whistle, Tajon Buchanan also put his side two goals to the good before they ultimately added a couple more later in the second period.

While one may think Herdman could use a lot of substitutes against Panama, he’s made it clear that Canada is treating this like any other game, especially because the result has major implications as to what pot they end up in for the World Cup draw, as they look to finish above both the USA and Mexico in CONCACAF. Both of those teams are in action tonight in Costa Rica vs USA and Mexico vs El Salvador.

Panama vs Canada Prediction

Honestly, this is a no-brainer pick. Canada is riding a high after qualifying for Qatar and they’re still motivated to lock up first place. Panama shouldn’t pose much of a threat to them. The moneyline offers massive value.

Pick: Canada +116
