- You can bet on which Greyjoy will perish first in Game of Thrones Season 8
- Yara has the shortest odds to die first, followed by Euron and Theon
- Who’s the best bet of the three to take?
The last time we saw Yara Greyjoy, she had a chain around her neck and was being paraded through the streets of King’s Landing like a dog on a leash.

Although we haven’t seen her since, it’s presumed she remains a prisoner on one of her uncle Euron’s ships, and that dire situation is enough to make her the favorite to be the first Greyjoy to perish in Season 8.

First Greyjoy to Perish | Odds |
---|---|
Yara | -110 |
Euron | +175 |
Theon | +200 |

Depending on which sportsbook you look at, Yara is also a favorite to be the first character to die in the upcoming season, but she still has an important role to play.
Yara’s naval experience is coveted
Despite having two dragons at her side, Daenerys still needs someone to transport all her loyal soldiers from one war to the next. Once the battle of Winterfell is over, they’ll need to reach the Capital to dethrone Cersei, and it’s a much quicker trip by sea.

Yara is the only one loyal to Daenerys who is capable of commanding a fleet, and her services will be necessary to ensure a safe arrival to Kings Landing. She’s also one of the few Ironborn who isn’t pure evil, and her alliance to Daenerys is critical in maintaining a successful pact with the Iron islands.
Theon will rescue his sister
Of course, before she can command any fleet, she’ll need to be rescued from Euron’s control, and that’s where Theon comes in.

His redemption tour is already underway, and the only way for his character arc to be salvaged is to have him kill his uncle and save his sister. Sure, he’s already cowered away from this exact situation before, but he’s full of confidence now and has at least a few of his fellow Ironborn brothers behind him.

Euron will be the first to go
This ends only one of two ways:Â Either Theon kills Euron, or he dies trying. I’m of the belief that there’s a reason we were forced to cringe through Theon’s story arc for seven seasons, and the only possible payoff for the viewer is to watch him finally redeem himself.

That means Euron will the first Greyjoy to perish, and I for one can’t wait to see that smug look wiped off his face.
Pick: Euron (+175)
