What are the Odds on Super Bowl 57?

The small point spread for Chiefs vs Eagles is not surprising considering both teams have 16-3 records and were the #1 seeds in their conferences. It appears to be a nearly even matchup and the lack of line movement suggests bettors feel the same way.

On the other hand, the over/under quickly rose after opening at 48.5 points. It has stayed at 50.5 for most of the week.

The biggest change has come on the moneyline as both teams were listed at -110 immediately after last Sunday’s conference championship games concluded. The Eagles are now at -122 and the Chiefs at +104.

Chiefs Super Bowl Odds

The Chiefs are underdogs in the Super Bowl odds. It marks the third time they have been dogs this season and they are 1-1 against the spread in that role.

They beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers outright as two-point road dogs on Oct. 2, winning 41-31. The Chiefs lost 24-20 to the Buffalo Bills, who were favored by 2.5 points, on Oct. 16 at home.

At +104 on the moneyline in the NFL odds, the Chiefs have a 49.02% implied win probability next Sunday. The passing yards over/under for Mahomes opened at 287.5 yards in the Super Bowl player props.

Of the Chiefs’ 19 games this season, 11 have gone over the total thanks in large part to quarterback Patrick Mahomes. More than 50.5 points – the current Super Bowl over/under – have been scored 10 times.

The Chiefs are drawing 61% of the spread bets and 60% of the total handle. The sharps are clearly pounding Kansas City on the moneyline with 86% of the handle going on the Chiefs despite 33% of total bets.

Eagles Super Bowl Odds

The Eagles have been favored in 18 of their 19 games and are 10-8 as the chalk.

The 1.5-point Super Bowl line marks the smallest number the Eagles have been favored by all season. They were 2.5-point picks over the San Francisco 49ers at home in the NFC Championship Game and rolled to a 31-7 victory.

The Super Bowl ATS trends show that the favorite has won but failed to cover just seven times in the game’s history.

The Eagles have an implied win probability of 54.95% as -122 favorites on the moneyline. The over/under for Miles Sanders’ rushing yards opened at 55.5 yards.

The over has been the winning side in 10 of the Eagles’ 19 games this season. However, just five of those games have gone over 50.5 points.

A total of 39% of the spread bets are going on the Eagles with 40% of the handle in the NFL betting trends. While the Eagles are getting 67% of the moneyline bets, they have generated just 14% of the handle.

Movement on the Line?

As usual, the Super Bowl draws more bets than any other event on the American sports schedule. There are plenty of Super Bowl betting promos and more states are adding legalized sports betting.

How much all that wagering will affect the line remains to be seen. The gut feeling is the spread will hold steady at 1.5 points in such an even matchup.

Any edge a better can get for his game will help, which makes the Chiefs getting the points an attractive play.
