Philadelphia remains short favorites, while the total has ticked up anywhere from a point to a point and a half depending on where you look. Oddsmakers are expecting KC money to come in today leading up until kickoff, but as of this morning the majority of the spread action in on the Eagles.

Chiefs vs Eagles Public Betting Splits – ATS

Circa Sportsbook was the first shop to post a Super Bowl 57 spread, making the Chiefs 2.5-point favorites. That line evaporated in a heartbeat, and it wasn’t long before Philadelphia was the chalk at US betting sites. The Eagles were favored by as much as 2.5 points in the moments following Conference Championship Sunday, before settling as 1.5-point favorites.

Fast forward two weeks and the line remains Philly -1.5. It hasn’t budged in 14 days, despite the Eagles drawing the majority of the spread wagers. 66% of the ATS tickets are currently backing Philadelphia, as is 69% of the spread money. If you’re planning on wagering on the Big Game, make sure to check out all of our how-to bet on the Super Bowl resources.

Per the Chiefs vs Eagles picks, the ATS trends can lead you in either direction. Patrick Mahomes is 7-1-1 all-time as an underdog, with six outright victories. This will mark the first time in his playoff career that he’s been catching points, and the first time KC has been an underdog in its last 16 postseason games.

The Chiefs are 8-11 versus the spread this season. The 11 ATS losses are the most ever by a team entering the Super Bowl, but KC has gone 5-0 both outright and against the spread versus NFC teams this season.

Mahomes’ high ankle sprain has been one of the key storylines to follow this week, but he’s all systems go according to the Chiefs vs Eagles injury report. The NFL MVP was a full participant in practice all week, but it’s worth noting history is not on his side. The last nine MVPs to play in the Super Bowl have failed to lift the Lombardi trophy.

As for Philadelphia, they’ve been spread crushers as favorites when laying one score or less. They were 9-3 ATS this season in those instances with Jalen Hurts under center, and Eagles -1.5 is a popular choice in our experts’ picks against the spread.

Philadelphia has been especially kind to first-half bettors, going 14-5 against the spread. Philly has outscored its opponents by 163 points in the opening 30 minutes, the best mark by any team since 2015.

If you’re looking for a reason to fade the Eagles consider this. The NFC is 1-7-2 against the spread in the last 10 Super Bowls they were favored in. Last year, the Rams beat the Bengals in Super Bowl 56 as favorites but didn’t cover the spread.

Chiefs vs Eagles Public Betting Splits – Totals

Total-wise, bettors are expecting a high-scoring game. The line opened at 49.5 and now sits at 51 at most online sportsbooks. 57% of the tickets and handles are backing the over, which goes against recent history.

According to the Super Bowl trends, the under has hit in four consecutive Super Bowls. This year’s postseason started with five straight contests going over, but since then unders have reigned supreme. Each of the past seven playoff games have gone under, including all four Divisional Round matchups, and both Conference Championship Games.

Philly has seen each of its last six playoff outings fall short of the total, while the under has hit in three straight KC contests.

Recent trends aren’t stopping the public from backing overs for the game total, or in the player props market. Four of the top-five Chiefs vs Eagles player props (not including TD bets) are backing overs.

Chiefs vs Eagles Public Betting Splits – Moneyline

As far as the moneyline market goes, the ticket count and handle are almost even. KC is garnering slightly more action as +105 underdogs. 51% of the handle is on the Chiefs, as are 56% of the moneyline tickets.

The justification is simple. If bettors are going to lose, they’d feel much more comfortable going down with Mahomes, the greatest QB talent we’ve potentially ever seen, as opposed to Hurts.

The Chiefs faced a much more difficult strength of schedule this year than the Eagles, which also plays into some of this KC moneyline love. Kansas City faced three of the top-five teams per DVOA, not including themselves, and beat two of them.

Philadelphia meanwhile, beat the 49ers, but San Fran was playing third and fourth-string QBs and the former couldn’t throw the ball beyond five yards. Outside of the Niners, the Eagles’ best win was versus Aaron Rodgers and a Packers team that couldn’t even qualify for the playoffs.
