Drew Brees leads Saints against uneven Cowboys team

New Orleans Saints (-3, 53 o/u) at Dallas Cowboys

It’s been an interesting start or the season for the New Orleans Saints (1-2), which lost close games to Atlanta and Cleveland before beating the depleted Vikings at home last weekend. Saints Head Coach Sean Payton isn’t worried as his team travels to Dallas for a Sunday night game on national television.

He said, “I thought our tempo was good, balance was good, and I thought we were running it pretty well.”

Still considered the front runner in the NFC South, the Saints are fun to watch as Drew Brees has a solid receiver in rookie Brandin Cooks (18 receptions for 168 yards this season). Let’s not forget about tight end superstar Jimmy Graham with 24 catches for 254 yards and two touchdowns.

You know the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) will be keeping a close eye on Graham, especially now considering the cornerback Morris Claiborne’s recent drama.

Dallas Coach Jason Garrett said, “We informed Mo yesterday that his role was going to change, and he didn’t take that news very well by his own admission. And he left the building and didn’t participate in the meetings and our short walkthrough that we have on Tuesdays. He did come back to the building last night. He and I visited, and he was here early this morning and has been going through everything.”

Nevertheless, the Dallas defense will have quite a task against Brees, who while quarterbacking the Saints has thrown for 14 scores and only two picks against the Cowboys.

While both offenses have major scoring ability (that is when Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn’t throwing interceptions) and the over 53 points looks enticing, taking the home dog’s money line could offer the best return.
