EPL Betting – Liverpool vs. Manchester City

Liverpool (+175) vs. Manchester City (+150) (Draw +250)

Tomorrow (Sunday, March 1), Liverpool will try to stretch their unbeaten streak to 11 when they host Manchester City at Anfield (7:00 a.m. Eastern).

The odds indicate an even match; the Sky-Blues are slight favorites – despite playing away from home – listed at +150 in the moneyline. On the other side, the Reds are +175 and the draw +250. In the odds to score the first goal, Sergio Aguero for City and Daniel Sturridge for the Reds are the favorites to net first; both are at +450.

Liverpool’s current unbeaten streak (7-3-0) has seen the team shoot up the EPL table. The Reds are now sixth in the standings (45 points), but just three points back of third-place Arsenal.  Liverpool got off to a rough start in the 2014-15 season and have lost four games by two or more goals, including a battle with Manchester City (3-1) back in August.

In the head-to-head, these teams have met 170 times in three competitions (League, League Cup, and FA Cup) and Liverpool lead the series with 82 wins, 44 losses, and another 44 draws. However, the Reds have only downed City in two of the last 12  (2-6-4).

While Liverpool come into the game hot, City are fresh off a painful defeat at home against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League (1-2). City were +250 underdogs in that game and had no answer for Luis Suarez and Barca’s biting attack.

The Citizens haven’t been much better in the EPL lately, either, getting only 13 of the last 24 points on offer (3-4-1).

Man City have managed two straight wins in the Premier League, though, including a 5-0 thrashing over Newcastle.

Those wins have kept Manchester City firmly entrenched in second place in the table with 55 points (16-7-3), seven points up on Arsenal. But all the points they left on the field of late have them five back of league-leading Chelsea.
