Curiously the week 5 of the NFL has only two divisional games in the lineup. One of them is the matchup that opens the week on Thursday Night Football when the Minnesota Vikings takes on the Green Bay Packers; the other division matchup is for the NFC South as Tampa Bay Bucs clash against the New Orleans Saints.

For Green Bay, it will be their third game in a row against a NFC North rival as they have to battle against the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears the previous two weeks.  The Packers are struggling on offense, especially their offensive line, which haven’t been able to give QB Aaron Rodgers enough time to be productive.

Another interesting matchup will be the battle of Texas between the Houston Texans and the Dallas Cowboys, a game that happens once every four years.

Yet, perhaps the best game of the week comes on Sunday Night Football as the New England Patriots host the Cincinnati Bengals.  These two teams met in 2013, and the Bengals held Patriots QB Tom Brady to zero TD passes, ending on that day a 50+ games streak with at least one.

Here are the current NFL betting lines for week 5:

  • Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers (-9), Thursday
