Smeltzer has worked at least five innings in each of his three starts and has never allowed more than one earned run in any appearance. In fact, he’s 3-0 since the start of the 2020 season. Smeltzer hasn’t tasted defeat in a big-league game since losing to Cleveland on Aug. 9, 2019.

However, Garcia sits among the bottom 2% in hard-hit percentage (53.7) and in the bottom percentile in xwOBAcon (.499).
Garcia has faced the Twins four times, including one start. He’s never factored in the decision but shows an 8.10 ERA.
