Odds as of June 13th

Giannis the Scorer

One thing that was noticeable in Milwaukee’s Game 3 win over Brooklyn was the fact that Giannis Antetokounmpo looked more like a scorer than anything else. He took a playoff-high 31 shots from the field while also attempting eight three-pointers, which was also a playoff-high. The strategy worked as the Bucks narrowed the Nets’ series lead to only one game.

One stat category that Antetokounmpo has been neglecting is assists. Over the first three games of this series, he has failed to reach five dimes in any of the games. Antetokounmpo is only averaging six potential assists per game in the series which makes it tough to rack up the assists.

Antetokounmpo’s points total is set way too high at 33.5 but it’s tough to take an under on him at this point. I think a better way to attack would be to go under on his assist number on the alt line at an elevated price.

  • The Pick: Antetokounmpo Under 4.5 Assists (+146) * alt line

Rise of the Joker

The Denver Nuggets are on the verge of getting swept and it could happen tonight. They have been beaten every way possible by the Phoenix Suns so far in this series and have lost every one by double digits. Tonight, the whole season could come crashing down, but the NBA’s MVP may have something to say in the end.

Nikola Jokic has had a tough go of it in this series. Not having Jamal Murray hurts but the defense of Deandre Ayton hasn’t helped. Still in Game 3, Jokic looked more like a guy that’s willing to put the team on his back and go down swinging. He took a playoff-high 29 shots in the loss and he could do it again tonight.

I am not sure if the Nuggets can win this game but I do think Jokic is the type of player that will fight to the death. I couldn’t imagine him taking less than 25 shots tonight and if he does, he should score at least 32 points.

  • The Pick: Jokic Over 31.5 points (+136) *Alt Line
