Ohio State Betting Outlook

Ohio State has been one of the best three-point shooting teams in the nation this season. However, a poor night from beyond the arc doomed the Buckeyes in their loss to Wisconsin on Thursday.

Ohio State made just four of their 14 (28.6%) three-point tries. The Buckeyes are still 30th in Division I in that category at 37.8%.

Freshman forward Brice Sensabaugh led Ohio State with 13 points on 5-of-7 shooting. He played just 17 minutes, though, before fouling out.

Sensabaugh is scoring a team-high 17.4 points – the fifth-best mark in the Big Ten.  He’s also grabbing 5.4 rebounds a game.

Junior forward Zed Key just missed a double-double, finishing with 12 points and nine rebounds. He is averaging 11.9 points and 7.7 rebounds.

Senior forward Justice Sueing has a 12.4 scoring average. He had 11 rebounds on Thursday as Ohio State dominated Wisconsin 45-26 on the boards.

The Buckeyes turned the ball over 16 times, though. Senior guard Isaac Likekele had five of them.

Coach Chris Holtmann’s frustration boiled over and he was ejected after being assessed two technical fouls late in the first half.

While Ohio State can shoot the three ball, it can also defend it, ranking 35th nationally at 30.2%.

Michigan Betting Outlook

Junior center Hunter Dickinson’s inside presence made the difference for Michigan on Thursday in its win at Northwestern.

Dickinson scored a team-high 19 points. He also made all five free throw attempts and is 22 for 24 (91.7%) in the last five games at the foul line.

For the season, Dickinson is averaging 17.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocked shots a game. He is fourth in the Big Ten in scoring and blocks while his 54.8 field goal percentage is fifth.

Sophomore guard Kobe Bufkin flirted with a triple-double as he finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists, two steals and one blocked shot. It marked his first collegiate double-double.

Bufkin is averaging 12.2 points a game, third on the team behind Dickinson and freshman guard Jeff Howard (14.6).

Senior guard Joey Baker scored a career-high 14 points off the bench in just 15 minutes.

Michigan turned in one of its best defensive performances of the season, holding Northwestern to 37.5% (21 of 56) shooting and 3 of 19 (15.8%) from long range.

The Wolverines also held a 41-33 rebounding advantage and committed just seven turnovers.

Ohio State vs Michigan Prediction

The teams have split their last eight meetings, including Ohio State winning 68-57 in Ann Arbor last season. Both teams are having disappointing seasons but fading the fading Buckeyes is the way to go here.

Pick: Michigan -2.5 (-105)

Season record: 24-21 (+0.9 units) ATS, 2-7 (-4.5 units) ML
