C.J. Henderson Worth a Top 10 Flier
One of the players that’s been flying up the draft board has been cornerback C.J. Henderson. Some people had him as a late-to-mid first-round pick originally but taking a look at an aggregate of mock drafts, he’s sneaking into the Top 10.
Me in the mental asylum tomorrow after I hear “and with the 7th pick of the 2020 NFL draft, the Carolina panthers select. C.J Henderson, Florida” pic.twitter.com/G8mgV0sDuQ

The issue here is that this isn’t a particularly deep draft for cornerbacks – especially elite ones. Jeffrey Okudah is the top corner on the block and Henderson starts the next tier. Teams like Carolina, Arizona, and Jacksonville could use a corner and I wouldn’t be surprised if Henderson lands with one of those teams – especially Jacksonville.
Okudah Should Go in the Top Five
Although I don’t like many of the lines in the Top 5, Okudah going in the Top 5 makes sense to me. He’s been most mocked to the Detroit Lions at No. 3 and that makes sense because they traded away Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay and need a replacement. They’re probably taking him at No. 3 or trading back to No. 5 to take him.
Jeff Okudah is elite on and off the field. Impressive character. Would love to see him on the #Lions pic.twitter.com/d1d7gGYVzQ

The other hot rumor is that the Atlanta Falcons are trying to trade up into the Top 5 to nab a defensive player who they believe could be a star. They could be eyeing Okudah too as they need help at the position. That’s likely going to put even more pressure on Okudah to go in the Top 5. I don’t like laying -200 but I think he’s a solid bet to go in the first five selections.
Can Lamb Sneak Into the Top 10?
For my money, CeeDee Lamb is the best wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft. While it’s generally thought that he’ll be the first receiver off the board – he’s a -110 favorite be – the thinking is that he doesn’t get off the board until the teens. However, someone may decide to trade up and get him.

The New York Jets are most mocked to land Lamb but they’re at No. 11. We also see plenty of mock drafts marrying the Las Vegas Raiders with a wide receiver, so maybe they move ahead of the Jets to get Lamb. There has been plenty of chatter that the Philadelphia Eagles are enamored with Lamb but for them to get a piece of the action, they’d have to trade into the Top 10.
The other key here is that we should have a number of willing participants to move back in the draft like the Arizona Cardinals (No. 8), Jacksonville Jaguars (No. 9) and Cleveland Browns (No. 10). That being the case, I’d take a small flier on Lamb making the Top 10 for plus money.
Pass on Kinlaw
Many early mock drafts have South Carolina’s Javon Kinlaw making the cut for the Top 10. However, as we take a look now, the aggregators are showing that Kinlaw has moved into the range somewhere of No. 15. It seems like some teams have soured on him as being part of the elite players in the draft and he’s viewed more as a second-tier guy. I’d pass on betting him to go in the Top 10.
