- Read below for the Golden Knights vs Stars odds, lines and our NHL best bet prediction
Two struggling teams face off in Dallas tonight, and based on early season returns, goals will be really hard to come by in this one. The Golden Knights and Stars are both in the bottom third of the NHL in goals scored per game this season. Vegas is listed as a short road underdog in the Golden Knights vs Stars odds.
Vegas has been off to a particularly slow start, as they sandwiched four losses in a row between a season-opening win over the expansion Seattle Kraken and Tuesday’s victory over Colorado. There’s really no clear favourite in this one other than the teams scoring under 5.5 goals, which is listed at -105 in NHL odds at DraftKings.
Let’s take a look at the Golden Knights vs Stars odds tonight as we decide on our best prediction for this contest.

Stars Odds & Betting Line vs Vegas
The Stars offensive players can’t find the back of the net early this season. Defenseman Miro Heiskanen leads the team with six points, and only one forward has more than three points so far.
Historically, matchups between these two teams have been really low scoring. In their last 10 games against each other, they’ve combined for just 44 goals for an average of 4.4 per game! That includes the last five times they met in the Western Conference Stanley Cup Finals in 2020 when Dallas took the series 4-1.

In case you were wondering, it’s been the opposite story in the last five regular season meetings between the two sides. Vegas has won four out of the last five regular season encounters going back to the 2018-19 campaign.
The Golden Knights have been severely hampered by injuries in the early going. Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone, arguably their two best forwards have been out since the second game of the season. While Stone may return to the lineup soon, Pacioretty is expected to be out until late November with a broken foot.
Without those two, the power play has been miserable as Vegas is the only team in the entire league without a goal on the man advantage so far this season.
Golden Knights Power Play Efficiency

---|---|---|---|
This Season | 0 | 0 % | 32nd |
2020-21 | 31 | 17.8 % | 22nd |

They’re also hurt on the back end, where blueline fixtures Alec Martinez and Zach Whitecloud have been out of the lineup, allowing names like Dylan Coghlan and Daniil Miromanov to gain NHL experience. All these factors have contributed to the Golden Knights’ early season slide, so they were in a celebratory mood after their surprising win yesterday.

Golden Knights vs Stars Picks and Predictions
I think it’s fair to say both of these teams are performing below expectations in the early going as both are expected to make the postseason in the NHL Playoff odds. The only thing consistent about these two squads is their lack of finish around the net. You can probably see where I’m going with this.
In fact, Dallas is the best team to bet the under on this year. All six of their games have gone under, a dismal statistic that they want to probably rid themselves of but claim overwhelming ownership to right now.
Every statistical trend points to these teams going under tonight. Can they break that trend? Of course, but I’m going to ride the early season tendencies of both teams and advise to bet on the under in the NHL odds, especially since it’s listed at 5.5 instead of an even 5 goals. I don’t see either team breaking out in Golden Knights vs Stars.
Pick: Under 5.5 (-105)
