Meanwhile, Honduras suffered a 2-0 defeat by Qatar but advanced in second place in Group D.

How They Stack Up
With a total of 11 wins in the competition, Mexico is the current defending champion after beating the USA 1-0 in the 2019 final.
It has won four of the last six editions of the competition. Therefore, it is priced at +140 to triumph again, with the USA as the second favorite at +150.
Furthermore, the power of the Mexican line-up means that it is hugely favored to see off the Hondurans at -245.
In contrast, Honduras is a wide outsider at +750.
Chance of a Tight Encounter
On the other hand, this could be a tighter affair than is predicted – although the draw after 90 minutes is rated at +350.
The kick-off at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, near Pheonix, is at 10pm ET.
In this kind of market, perhaps the best idea is to look at the game prop options.
Mexico is the only team yet to concede a goal in this year's Gold Cup tournament 💪🇲🇽

In the Half Time/ Full Time odds, the Tie/Mexico price is an attractive +275.
Under Argentinian coach Gerardo Martino, Mexico has lost just three games since his appointment in 2019.
It has been defeated only once in the last nine games, in Wales last March by a 1-0 score.
His team, moreover, will be aiming against Honduras to record its seventh consecutive clean sheet in all competitions – having yet to concede a goal at this tournament.

Its defensive strength will be its platform in this last eight tie, having allowed just three shots on target at this competition
But it also has greater fire-power going forward.
Despite this, it has struggled to break down the well-organized defenses of both Trinidad and El Salvador.
Low-scoring Group Stage for Mexicans
In fact, its return of four goals in the group stage is its lowest tally since 2007.
Honduras, however, has been handy going forward – scoring seven times in its three games at the competition.
Obviously, the opening draw against Trinidad was a disappointment.
But things improved markedly with a 3-0 win against Guatemala and then a 1-0 success against a tough El Salvador side.
Honduras, meanwhile, had its points in the bag before the defeat by eventual Group D winners Qatar on Matchday 3.

It began with a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of Grenada.
Then, subsequently, the Hondurans notched up a hard-fought 3-2 win against Panama.

For Mexico, the aim is to record another triumph to make up for a 3-2 defeat after extra-time by the USA last month in the final of the CONCACAF Nations League tournament.
The squad lost its star forward Hirving Lozano of Napoli for the remainder of the Gold Cup when he suffered a major head injury against Trinidad.
However, the Argentina-born forward Rogelio Funes Mori of Liga MX side Monterrey scored twice against Guatemala.
Orbelin Pineda of Liga MX Clausura champions Cruz Azul added the third goal in that game.

Alex has been phenomenal this Gold Cup! An overall talent either setting up his teammates for goals or taking the opportunity himself to seek out a win for the Honduran side. pic.twitter.com/kyNAip6Jne

Meanwhile, the winner against El Salvador was delivered by Luis Rodriguez after 26 minutes.
Now the Honduran side is aiming against the odds to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2013.
Honduras Was Runner-Up in 1991
It was the runner-up at the inaugural Gold Cup competition in 1991.
Honduras will be without its injured star goal-getter Romell Quioto of MLS side CF Montreal.
He has hit three of the team’s seven goals at the Gold Cup.
Jerry Bengston started against Grenada – scoring once – and came off the bench against Panama.
The former New England Revolution player will be the starting replacement for Quioto.
There was a 0-0 draw when these nations met as recently as June in a friendly in Atlanta.

That game was notable, above all, for the fact that Honduras prevented the Mexicans from registering a single shot on target.
Certainly, that suggests that Mexico may have a tougher task this time around than is expected by the oddsmakers.
Before that, there was a 3-2 win for Honduras in a World Cup qualifier in 2017.

But it was the Hondurans only victory in the last eight meetings with Mexico.
Now, to sum up, this game could be tight and gritty which makes the suggested prop offer a good prospect.
Pick: Mexico +275 (Half Time/ Full Time Prop – Tie/Mexico).
