Champions League Odds – Olympiacos vs. Juventus
Group A in the Champions League resumes on Wednesday as Juventus will face Olympiacos at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Piraeus. Kick-off will be at 2:45 p.m. Eastern.
In the head-to-head history, Juventus dominates the series with five wins, two draws and only one loss. Juventus is also undefeated in away games against Olympiacos. The oddsmakers have Juventus as the slight favorite to win the game, sitting at +100; the draw will pay +229, and a Greek victory is listed +300.
After both teams won their opening fixtures, neither could keep the momentum going. In their second fixtures, Juventus lost to Atletico Madrid and Olympiacos lost to Malmo FF. Group A is the most even in the UEFA Champions League so far – indeed, it is as even as it could get, points wise – with every team sitting on three points (1W, 1L). The neck-and-neck race makes every game and every goal all the more important in Group A.
After losing against “Los Colchoneros” (1-0), the Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, said he knows this match against Olympiacos is key.
“The group is open after tonight’s results. We have great chances to reach the next round but we must win the next match,” said Allegri after drawing in Madrid.
On the other side, after losing against Malmo FF (2-0), Roberto, the Olympiacos goalkeeper, said they have a new opportunity to try to reach the next round.
“We have the same ambition in the Champions League. Everyone has three points now. We start again. We can say that everyone in the group starts again because we all have three points. We have to think that we are in a good position, in the same position as the other teams, and we have to fight and look forward,” added the keeper in an interview given to UEFA.
Juve dominates the Serie A but has struggled in recent Europeans competitions; they know that a win in Greece would help turn the tide. Bet Juventus to win.
