DraftKings Online Sports Betting Now Live in North Carolina

DraftKings is now live in North Carolina.
The online sports betting giant launched in the Tar Heel State today at noon, marking the operator’s 27th live U.S. state, in addition to Ontario, Canada.
To celebrate its North Carolina launch, DraftKings is teaming up with Carolina Panthers legend Greg Olsen for a ceremonial first bet at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. DraftKings has partnered with NASCAR for market access in the state.
DraftKings Kicking Off In Another State
DraftKings partnered with NASCAR as part of its sports betting application to the North Carolina Lottery Commission. DraftKings announced its partnership with NASCAR in early January.
The sportsbook was awarded one of the first eight sports betting operator licenses by the North Carolina Lottery Commission in late February.
“With the NCAA Tournament right around the corner and the NASCAR season in full throttle, we are thrilled to be launching our top-rated sportsbook app in North Carolina,” said Matt Kalish, President, DraftKings North America, in a release.

As part of the launch, Olsen will make DraftKings’ ceremonial first bet at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. DraftKings Chief Commercial Officer Jeremy Elbaum and North Carolina State Rep. Zack Hawkins (D-31) will also be in attendance.
Hawkins was the primary sponsor of the state’s sports betting bill.
DraftKings is both an official daily fantasy and sports betting partner of the NFL, NHL, PGA TOUR, and UFC, as well as an official daily fantasy partner of NASCAR, an official sports betting partner of the NBA and an authorized gaming operator of MLB.
DraftKings North Carolina Offering Promos for New Users
As part of the launch, new customers who register a DraftKings account will be eligible to receive $250 in bonus bets. Users must make a minimum deposit of $5 and a minimum $5 bet to receive 10 $25 bonus bets.
The bonus bets are single-use and non-cashable for users. They must be wagered one-time before any resulting cash winnings can be withdrawn and the bonus stake is not included in the winnings. The bonus bets expire one week after being awarded.
