There’s nothing better than a conference game between two ranked opponents. However, No. 15 Oklahoma State (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) almost didn’t live up to its end of the bargain, nearly squandering last weekend’s game against Kansas. The Cowboys eked out a 27-20 W to set up a big game against TCU (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) in Fort Worth (Saturday, October 18, at 4:00 p.m. Eastern).

Cowboys linebacker Seth Jacobs said, “We came out with a victory. We’re undefeated in league play, and we’re 5-1. There’s definitely things to learn from the game, like there is from each game. We’re in a good position right now, and we just have to focus on the next game.”

That next game is against the prolific Horned Frogs offense, which ranks third in the nation averaging 45.8 points per game.

Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said, “They are a very good football team, a very fast football team, well-coached and able to manufacture a lot of points on offense. We definitely have our work cut out for us.”

TCU will come into the game still reeling from a loss to then-No. 5 Baylor. The team held a 21-point lead in the fourth quarter against the Bears, but sputtered down the stretch, losing 61-58.

TCU head coach Gary Patterson said, “I feel bad for my kids because they played well, especially on offense. Fifty-eight points should be enough to win.”

Logic dictates TCU won’t score in the 50s again, which is why taking the Cowboys and the points makes the most sense in this Big 12 matchup.
