  • StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor starts June 12th
  • Will NiP be able to come out on top of another Minor?
  • Can an Asian team claim the title in Kiev?

The StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor starts June 12th in Kiev, and will see eight teams competing for the $300,000 prize pool with the top two teams earning qualifying spots for the Epicenter Major. Heading into the Minor, Ninjas in Pyjamas, come in as the favorite to win but there are other teams that aren’t far behind in the odds table.

Will the European mix-squad be able to take the first place spot at another Minor this season, or will there be an Asian team claiming the top spot in Kiev by the end of the tournament?

Another Minor Title for the NiP?

The Ninjas are having a decent year so far in the Dota Pro Circuit, claiming first in a few EU qualifiers and most notably taking home the title at the OGA Dota Pit Minor in late April. They currently sit in the eighth spot in the DPC ranking this season, a clear 1300 points above the ninth place team and almost a full 2000 points above the next highest ranked team that will be in attendance at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor.

The Ninjas are having a decent year in the Dota Pro Circuit, claiming first in a few EU qualifiers and most notably taking home the title at the OGA Dota Pit Minor.

They are coming off of a pretty disappointing finish at ESL One Birmingham which saw NiP not even make it out of the group stage and finish in the 9-10th spot, their second worst placing on the year. If they are able to shake off their previous performance and come in with fresh minds, then I don’t see NiP placing outside of the top-2 at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor, and claiming one of the two qualifying spots for the Epicenter Major.

Will EHOME Get Their Revenge or Will Another Asian Team Prevail?

In the OGA Dota Pit Minor, EHOME, lost a close series to NiP 3-2, which would’ve seen them move on to the Disneyland Paris Major and the chance at competing for the $350,000 grand prize for first place and DPC points.

Though they lost it was by a very close series and it showed that EHOME can beat the likes of Ninjas in Pyjamas on any given day, so they should for sure be looked at to come out with the first place finish at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor.

Another team that should definitely be looked at more seriously to win the Minor and qualify for the Epicenter Major with the top spot would be the Southeast  Asian squad, Mineski. They have had pretty solid results this year, albeit at some smaller events, but they have shown that they can compete with some of the top teams in the world of Dota. They have found some wins over some pretty decent teams in 2019, and they even hold a 2-0 record over EHOME this season.

Possibly Value in the Boys from NA?

Though unlikely, it may be worth looking at compLexity to come out on top at the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor. They have had reasonably decent results this year and recently breezed through the NA qualifier to make it to the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota2 Minor only dropping one game.

Like I said though, I wouldn’t place too much on compLexity winning the whole thing, but if you’re looking for a high risk/high reward bet you may want to throw some money on compLexity.

Pick: Ninjas in Pyjamas (+250)
