Following an exciting Olympic Golf Competition that saw Xander Schauffele win the gold for USA, the PGA Tour’s best tee it up for the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational. The exclusive field features 66 players from 15 different countries, with the winner taking home a cool $1.82 million.

The two players that aren’t competing are world #1 Jon Rahm, who had to withdraw from the Olympics following a positive COVID-19 test, and South African Christiaan Bezuidenhout. This will be the third time the World Golf Championships event will be held at TPC Southwind, though the tour had a regular tour stop here for many years. Dustin Johnson was the last winner before it became this exclusive tournament.

This marks the second last week before the FedEx Cup playoffs will begin in and big points are on the line that can position the players nicely as they vie for the coveted prize. Read on to see the odds and best value picks for the event.

Brooks Koepka Loves This Track

Brooks Koepka has been treating TPC Southwind as his personal playground for years, as he won this tournament in 2019, then finished runner-up last year. The four-time major champion has also posted another second place showing in 2016 and was third in 2015.

He also appears recovered from his knee injury, racking up top-six results in four of the last five times teeing it up.

Off-the-Tee Total Putting Tee-to-Green Ball Striking Short Game Approach

Though he doesn’t present juicy odds, given that he’s a +1200 co-favorite, those odds aren’t terrible considering how fantastic he’s been at this venue in his career in addition to how well he’s currently playing.

2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational Best Value Picks

  1. Bryson DeChambeau (+2800): At some point the value is just too good to pass up for such a talented player like Bryson DeChambeau. Though he doesn’t have a top-10 in his last seven starts and had to withdraw at the Olympics due to COVID-19, it’s not like ‘The Mad Scientist’ has been awful lately. In the last 24 rounds he’s first in strokes gained off the tee.
  2. Patrick Reed (+4000): Another enigmatic player that is very enticing at these odds is Patrick Reed, who tends to shine brightest in better tournaments. That includes two WGC titles to his credit in 2014 and 2020. Eleventh in strokes gained tee-to-green and SG: short game in last 24 rounds. He’s had a fifth place and T-12 showings on this course.
  3. Joaquin Niemann (+5000): 22-year-old Chilean star in the making Joaquin Niemann is coming off a top-10 at the Olympics. Three times this season he’s finished second, twice occurring in playoffs, including three starts ago at the Rocket Mortgage Classic.
