The Philadelphia Eagles have one of the most speedy-talented teams in the NFL, and are a tremendous team to bet on in the NFC, but the key injuries their quarterback Michael Vick sufferers all the time, makes you wonder if they are a safe bet.

Last season the expectations for the Eagles were as high as this year, but the truth is, by the way they played in the few games of the 2011 season, it’s easy to see why people think they are so good.

LeSean McCoy could easily be the best running back in the game, and if he’s not; he’s the fastest without questions.  He finds holes, and can run power football, or just around the defense to make him a double menace.

DeSean Jackson is easily the faster wide receiver in the league with great hands and tremendous skills to make critical plays.  He overplays the cornerbacks with speed and a strong sense of the offense.

But Mike Vick is the real dilemma. He’s brilliant, spectacular, fun to watch, but with every hit he takes you wonder about a significant injury.

Vick has played two preseason games so far in 2012; he left both because of injury issues. X-rays on Vick’s ribs at the stadium were negative, and an MRI and CT scan on Tuesday revealed he has no broken bones or fractured cartilage.

“If he didn’t play again (in the preseason) then he’d be OK,” Reid said. “I would tell you I’d probably like to see him play a little bit more, but he’s got enough experience. We’re not talking about a rookie. I think he’ll probably be OK.”

The Eagles will go as far as Vick will take them, but history says he has only one completed season on his entire career, in all the others he missed at least one game because of injury.
