The weekend is here, and along with it comes 15 MLB games to sweat on Friday. That also means a full player props menu for us to pick apart, and we’ve settled on our three favorite wagers to help start the weekend off on a winning note.

Our first target comes to us from Atlanta, where the red-hot Braves are big favorites in the MLB odds over the Rockies. The Braves have been on fire at the dish lately, and we expect that to continue versus Colorado starter Dinelson Lamet.

MLB Player Props – Friday, June 16th

Prop Odds
Dinelson Lamet Over 3.5 Runs -105
Sandy Alcantara Under 4.5 Strikeouts +105
Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases -135

Lamet has been a punching bag for enemy lineups all season, and we’ll gladly bank on him allowing over 3.5 runs at -105 odds.

MLB Player Prop #1: Dinelson Lamet Over 3.5 Runs

The Rockies righty enters play with a 10.38 ERA. That’s the second time in three seasons he’s had a mark over 9.45, as he’s allowed six more runs (27) than innings pitched (21).

Opponents are slashing .351/.447/.596 against him, pounding 22 hits and scoring 17 times in the last 11.2 innings he’s pitched.

Atlanta Braves Last 12 Games

HR R AVG OBP SLG
22 73 .300 .360 .507

As for the Atlanta bats, to say they’re rolling right now would be an understatement. Entering play on Thursday, they’d scored 73 times in their last 12 contests.

No team has a higher slugging percentage or batting average over the last two weeks, and the Braves got off to a sizzling start in the series opener versus Colorado, crossing the plate seven times in the game’s first five innings.

Pick: Dinelson Lamet Over 3.5 Runs (-105)

MLB Player Prop #2: Sandy Alcantara Under 4.5 Strikeouts

Our next target is the under on Sandy Alcantara’s strikeout prop. The line currently sits at 4.5, a number he’s failed to clear in four of his past five starts.

Alcantara has never been a big strikeout pitcher, but his K/9 rate has fallen below 8 this season. It currently sits at 7.7, the lowest it’s been since 2019. His called+swinging strike rate is also at its lowest mark since 2019, and unlike last year he’s not pitching as deep into games.

Alcantara has pitched 6.1 innings or less in eight of his 13 starts so far, after lasting at least 7 innings in 21 of his final 27 outings in 2022.

Also working against him is Friday’s opponent. He’ll clash with the Nationals, the team with the lowest strikeout rate in baseball. Washington has fanned only 459 times, which is 237 times fewer than the league-worst Twins.

Pick: Sandy Alcantara Under 4.5 Strikeouts (+105)

MLB Player Prop #3: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases

Last, but not least, let’s target over 1.5 total bases for Shohei Ohtani. The AL MVP odds frontrunner has been a nightmare to face for opposing pitchers all season, but especially over the last two weeks.

Ohtani leads all MLB hitters in home runs (6) over the last two weeks, while ranking top-three in slugging and wOBA. He’s slashing .423/.500/.904 during that stretch, with multiple hits in four straight contests entering play on Thursday.

Ohtani has cleared this line in six straight starts overall, and has a very favorable matchup versus the Royals Brady Singer. KC’s righty is fresh off surrendering six hits and four runs in a loss versus Baltimore, and has yielded a .291/.361/.513 slash line to opposing hitters.

Ohtani doesn’t have much history against Singer, with one hit in only three at-bats, but he’s absolutely crushed the Royals over his career. He’s 26-for-71 all-time against KC (.366), with seven home runs, 23 RBI and 12 extra-base hits.

Pick: Shohei Ohtani Over 1.5 Total Bases (-135)
