  • Check out Monday’s best MLB player props to bet, below

We’re technically two weeks away from the Dog Days of Summer, however it’s starting to feel more and more like it with each passing day.

An NBA and NHL champion has been crowned, the U.S. Open is in the rearview mirror, and we’re still multiple weeks away from Wimbledon.

For all intents and purposes, baseball is the only game in town, and we’re fortunate enough to have 10 games to sweat on Monday. That means there’s a full menu of player props to target, and we’ve hand picked our top selections below.

MLB Player Props – Monday, June 19th

Prop Odds
Josiah Gray Under 4.5 Strikeouts -115
Lane Thomas  2+ Bases +110

Our player props card starts with  under 4.5 strikeouts for the Nationals Josiah Gray. It’s a number he’s struggled to exceed in the bulk of his recent starts, and he hasn’t fared well against Monday’s opponent (the Cardinals) in the past.

MLB Player Prop #1: Josiah Gray Under 4.5 Strikeouts

St. Louis is a sizeable road favorite over Washington in the MLB odds, which tells you online sportsbooks aren’t all that high on Gray. The right-hander was shelled in his last start by the Astros, marking the second time in three outings he’s been beaten up by enemy hitters.

Gray coughed up six hits, two homers and four runs versus Houston, after yielding an almost identical stat line to Philadelphia earlier in the month. He’s failed eclipse four strikeouts in four of his last seven starts, and is on pace for the lowest K/9 rate of his career.

He’s currently averaging only 7.5 strikeouts per 9 innings, down two full K’s from a season ago. He doesn’t have a ton of history with the Cardinals regulars in the MLB starting lineups, but neither of his outings against them last season went very well.

Gray allowed 11 hits, three homers and eight runs in just 8.1 innings. He failed to make it out of the 4th inning in his final outing against St. Louis, and he happens to be catching the Cards at a bad time. St. Louis just crossed the plate 13 times in two weekend games versus the Mets, including an eight run outburst on Sunday.

Pick: Josiah Gray Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-115)

MLB Player Prop #2: Lane Thomas 2+ Bases

Next up, let’s target Gray’s teammate Lane Thomas. The 27-year-old is +110 to record at least two bases, a feat he’s accomplished in four straight outings.

Thomas blasted his 11th home run of the season on Sunday, extending his hitting streak to six games. He’s slashing a team-high .345/.367/.690 over the last week, and is a career .500 hitter versus St. Louis starter Jack Flaherty.

Speaking of Flaherty, the right-hander enters play on Monday on the heels of a disastrous outing. Flaherty surrendered 10 hits and six runs to the Giants in his latest start, and has been hit hard by the Nats in the past.

He’s yielded a .280/.379/.420 slash line to Nationals hitters over 50 at-bats, and is on pace to allow the most hits of his career.

Pick: Lane Thomas 2+ Bases (+110)

MLB Player Prop #3: Austin Gomber Under 4.5 Strikeouts

Last, but not least, let’s target under 4.5 strikeouts for Austin Gomber. The lefty is having a disastrous season, posting an ERA of 7.29, and a K/9 rate of just 5.9. That’s the lowest mark of his career, and it’s down a full strikeout from a season ago.

Austin Gomber K’s – Last Six Starts

Opponent K’s
Boston Red Sox 5
San Diego Padres 1
KC Royals 4
New York Mets 3
Miami Marlins 2
Cincinnati Reds 1

He’ll face the Reds for the second time this season on Monday, after his first outing did not go so well. Gomber lasted only 4.1 innings that night, coughing up eight hits and five runs, while fanning just one.

He’s exceeded 4.5 strikeouts in only one of his last six starts, and just three times all season. Bank on him falling short again versus the Reds.

Pick: Austin Gomber Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-145)
