Araujo vs Grasso Odds & Prediction

Viviane Araujo has gone the distance in each of the dates during her current 4-2-0 run. That marks a significant turnaround for the 35-year-old Brazilian, who finished opponents on seven occasions during a 7-1-0 start to her pro MMA career.

Alexa Grasso forced an opponent to tap out for the first time in her pro MMA career in her recent opening-round finish of Joanne Wood at UFC Columbus. With that win, Grasso now rides her first three-fight win streak since joining the UFC back in 2016.

Araujo responded well in her last outing, which came in the wake of a decisive unanimous decision loss to Katlyn Chookagian a year earlier at UFC 262. While she struggled to keep pace with Andrea Lee’s striking, Araujo convinced the judges with a well rounded performance that featured three takedowns and two submission attempts.

“Vivi” had struggled in outings in which she was outstruck, falling to defeat in two of her past three.

Indeed, Araujo has shown steady improvement when the action goes to the mat, establishing control for almost 14 total minutes over her past two fights.

A skilled boxer, Grasso established herself as a knockout specialist early in her MMA career while tallying first-round wins by KO and TKO in four of her first six pro fights. Over the course of her MMA career, Grasso has landed an average of almost five significant strikes per round, and sports an impressive 63% strike defense.

While she also holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Grasso has more regularly come out on the wrong end of takedown attempts, and has been brought to the mat on 15 total occasions over her past eight fights.

Grasso has seen nine of her 14 career wins come by decision, but so far she not yet seen any action in championship rounds.

Pick: Grasso by decision (+130)

Swanson vs Martinez Odds & Prediction

Cub Swanson has enjoyed a career renaissance since snapping a brutal four-fight losing streak, claiming victory in two of his past three outings, capped by a crushing first-round TKO of Darren Elkins last time out at UFC Vegas 45.

“Killer” is one of the most experienced fighters in MMA today. Since joining the UFC in 2011, Swanson has racked up a 13-8-0 record and has claimed a record nine performance bonuses.

Jonathan Martinez has split his time fighting as both a featherweight and bantamweight over the course of eight-year pro MMA career. The 28-year-old American has produced mixed results while fighting at bantamweight, going 6-3-0.

Martinez has been knocked down in two of his past four fights, including his first ever loss by finish, a second-round KO defeat at the hands of Davey Grant at UFC Vegas 21.

Pick: Any fighter to win by KO, TKO, DQ (+155)

Other UFC Vegas 62 Picks

  • Alonzo Menifield (-215): Fresh off a dominating first-round finish of Askar Mozharov, Menifield is poised to claim his fourth win in five outings in his date with rapidly declining Misha Cirkunov
  • Askar Askarov (-250): Askarov arguably deserved a better fate in his recent unanimous lodd to UFC flyweight title contender Kai Kara-France, which marked his only loss in 14 career fights
  • Dusko Todorovic (-215): Todorovic is coming off a brutal opening-round KO loss to Chidi Njokuani, but should have enough in the tank to get past Jordan Wright, who has been outclassed in three of four outings.
