The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is back home after a successful five-week stint on Fight Island for UFC Vegas 12 that goes down on Halloween night at the UFC Apex.

In the main event, Uriah Hall is looking to extend his winning streak to three when he battles the former middleweight champion and one of the best of all-time in Anderson Silva. The co-main event sees fan-favorite Bryce Mitchell put his undefeated record on the line when he takes on perennial contender Andre Fili at featherweight.

UFC Vegas 12 main card airs live on ESPN+ at 7 PM EST. The table below shows odds for the main card at FanDuel and DraftKings, followed by best bets for the event.

Will Silva Retire On a Win?

In just a seven-day span, the UFC will see Khabib Nurmagomedov and Anderson Silva retire, both of who are in the GOAT conversation.

Hall & Silva Recent Fights

Hall
VS
Silva
Antonio Carlos Junior, win by split decision Fight 1 Jared Cannonier, loss by TKO
Bevon Lewis, win by KO Fight 2 Israel Adesanya, loss by decision
Paulo Costa, loss by KO Fight 3 Derek Brunson, win by decision
Krzysztof Jotko, win by TKO Fight 4 Daniel Cormier, loss by decision

Entering the fight, the big storyline is – will this be the last time Anderson Silva fights in the Octagon? The 45-year-old legend is 1-6 and one no-contest in his last seven.

Although the record looks awful, he has only been fighting the best of the best in Chris Weidman, twice, Michael Bisping, Nick Diaz, Daniel Cormier up a weight class, and on short notice, Derek Brunson, Israel Adesanya, and Jared Cannonier.

Against Hall, the UFC did give the Brazilian a fight in which he has a chance to win as he is facing a striker who, when Hall was coming up, was compared to Silva.

Early on, I expect both men to have respect for each other’s striking and it will be a feeling-out process. Then, in the second round, Hall will start going after the lead leg of Silva which has caused him troubles and start picking the Brazilian apart. Yet, I do think Silva will have his moments in the fight but it won’t be enough as he will lose a clear decision.

I can’t see Hall finishing Silva unless it is because of the leg giving out like the Cannonier fight. However, I do expect Hall to clearly win three to four rounds.

Pick: Uriah Hall (-230)

Will Fili Derail Mitchell’s Hype Train?

This is a fantastic matchup between one of the top featherweight prospects in Bryce Mitchell vs a proven contender in Andre Fili.

Mitchell & Fili Recent Fights

Mitchell
VS
Fili
Charles Rosa, win by decision Fight 1 Charles Jourdain, win by split decision
Matt Sayles, win by submission Fight 2 Sodiq Yusuff, loss by decision
Bobby Moffett, win by decision Fight 3 Sheymon Moraes, win by TKO
Tyler Diamond, win by decision Fight 4 Myles Jury, win by decision

Andre Fili will no doubt be Bryce Mitchell’s toughest test of his career and I do think he is the one to hand Mitchell to hand his first loss.

Mitchell needs to get the fight to the ground to have success as he is a jiu-jitsu wizard. However, Fili has solid takedown defense (69 percent) while Mitchell only completes 41 percent of his takedown attempts. So, I believe Fili will be able to keep the fight standing and be able to pick apart Mitchell on their feet to win a clear-cut decision win.

Pick: Andre Fili (+140)

Other UFC Vegas 12 Picks:

  1. Kevin Holland (-162): This should be a kickboxing fight and Holland is the more technical and more powerful striker and will get a late TKO win.
  2. Greg Hardy (-300): Greg Hardy should win this fight by KO. However, -300 is way too high of a price to bet on a heavyweight fight so this is a pass for me.
  3. Bobby Green (-265): Bobby Green has turned his career around in 2020 and I believe he’ll keep the winning streak going by out striking Moises to win a decision.
