Philly is coming off a win against the New York Knicks on Friday, the front end of a back-to-back for Joel Embiid and Co.

As for Brooklyn, they looked solid on Thursday, beating the Chicago Bulls at home. Spencer Dinwiddie led the way in his first game back in a Nets uniform.

Can Nets Still Contend?

No team in the Association shook their roster up at the deadline more than the Nets.

Kyrie Irving forced his way out and shortly after, Joe Tsai and the front office sent Kevin Durant to the Phoenix Suns for an absolute haul in return, including numerous picks, Mikal Bridges and Cam Johnson. Plus, Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith landed in Brooklyn in the Kyrie blockbuster with the Dallas Mavericks.

While there isn’t necessarily a superstar on this team anymore, Jacque Vaughn still has talent at his disposal. And at 33-22, they still have every chance to make the playoffs. Thursday gave everyone a glimpse into this new-look rotation, with Dinwiddie dropping a team-high 25 points in a victory over the Bulls.

Cam Thomas, who just showed out for 40+ points in three straight games, making him the youngest player in NBA history to do so, added another 20 here, too.

The Nets shot 39% from long range and took off in the fourth, outscoring Chicago 37-21. Thomas scored all of his points in the second half, once again proving to be a difference-maker. Bridges and Johnson could suit up Saturday depending on when the trade officially goes through, while big man Nic Claxton is probable after missing a game with hamstring soreness.

Philly Back on Track

After a pair of losses to the Knicks and Celtics, where they were held to under 100 points, Philly responded on Friday evening vs New York again, winning 119-108, this time at home. That takes the Sixers to 35-19 on the year, which is good enough for third place in the East.

Embiid was the star of the show, going off for 35 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists, dominating Jericho Sims and Isaiah Hartenstein in the post. Tyrese Maxey finally got back on track with a 27-piece, while James Harden posted 20 points and dished out 12 dimes.

The 76ers’ defense was stout in the final period too, holding the Knicks to just 15 points. Doc Rivers’ squad also shot 52% overall in this contest and committed a mere six turnovers. Some very clean basketball from Philadelphia.

76ers vs Nets Prediction

The Sixers are coming off a great performance where everything was clicking. I expect that to continue Saturday on the road. They’ll cover.

Pick: 76ers -3 (-110)
