Odds as of April 13th

Paul George Continues His Tear

George has missed 14 games this season due to a lingering toe issue, but he’s still managed to put up some very respectable numbers. The seven-time All-Star is averaging 23 points per night, while also grabbing 6.2 boards and dishing out 5.4 assists.

The Clippers are currently on a five-game winning streak and are one of the hottest teams in the association, going 8-2 in their last 10. PG has also been locked in, recently winning Western Conference Player of the Week after dropping 33.7 points per night across his last three games.

Even more wild? George shot 60% from three-point range during that span.

He torched a solid Blazers team for 36 then just two nights later, erupted for another 33 points against the surging Suns. He and Kawhi Leonard have been showing out, but, the Claw will miss his second consecutive contest on Tuesday due to a minor foot injury.

Without Leonard on Sunday, George collected 32 in a win over Detroit. Expect PG to rise to the occasion once again and continue his torrid run. The over is a worthy bet here.

  • Pick: Paul George Over 26.5 Points (-110)

Tatum Grabbing Boards

Jayson Tatum made the headlines last Friday after exploding for a career-high 53 points, becoming the youngest Celtic ever to score at least 50. He’s been playing very well lately and was recently named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week while playing a crucial part in Boston’s surge up the standings.

Despite his impressive offensive numbers, there’s an area of Tatum’s game that’s gone unnoticed. The former Duke star is having an enormous impact on the boards, averaging 10 rebounds across the last three games.

What’s even more impressive is that Tatum did that against three physical teams in the Knicks, Timberwolves, and Nuggets. On the season, the 23-year-old is grabbing 7.1 boards per night.

The Trail Blazers, meanwhile, don’t possess a great presence in the paint. They’re more of a shooting team than anything else and are 21st in the NBA in opponent rebounds allowed per game. Tatum has hit the over in seven of his last eight as well. This is a great bet.

  • Pick: Jayson Tatum Over 6.5 Rebounds (+112)
