After five games, NBA fans finally have a series as a road team finally won a game. The Milwaukee Bucks were the first to accomplish the feat, taking down the Phoenix Suns 123-119 at the newly named Footprint Arena in Phoenix in Game 5. Three different Bucks players scored at least 25 points, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who finished with 32 on the night.

The Bucks will look to wrap up their first NBA championship since 1971 tonight in front of their fans at the Fiserv Forum. Tip off is scheduled for 9pm ET on ABC.

FanDuel has the Bucks listed as 4.5-point favorites for Game 6 which is where their last game at the Fiserv Forum closed. The total is listed at 222 after both teams shot over 55% in Game 5. Both teams combined to go 27-47 from three-point land which will be tough to replicate.

Odds as of July 20th at FanDuel

As for the futures market, the NBA Championship odds are now showing the Bucks as -380 favorites to win the NBA title, which is the shortest we’ve seen this number. Phoenix was as heavy as -470 before Game 3 so the tables have completely turned in this series.

Block Party

The Phoenix Suns have their backs against the wall tonight. They have to win or the season is over, so there will be no room for error. In a situation like this, it will be all hands on deck in terms of defense and Deandre Ayton is the first guy we should look at.

History will always remember Giannis Antetokounmpo’s block on him in Game 4, but maybe he returns the favor tonight.

FanDuel is letting us bet defensive stats now so it’s only natural we take advantage. Blocks and steals are never easy to predict – but it’s not like we need anyone to have more than two. Of the two players listed tonight, no one has a line higher than 1.5. On top of that, both of those numbers are coming with a plus money price tag.

The reason I am looking to Ayton is because he will likely be on the floor for 40+ minutes unless he gets into foul trouble.  In the last four games, Ayton has blocked at least two shots in three of them. The lone exception was the night he only played 24 minutes due to foul trouble. I think he swats at least two balls tonight.

  • The Pick: Ayton Over 1.5 Blocks (+124)

Jrue the Assist Master

When the Milwaukee Bucks needed Jrue Holiday the most he stepped up. Even though two other Bucks besides Holiday scored at least 25 points, he was the one most can agree had the best game. Besides his 27 points, he chipped in with 13 assists and three steals. His last steal led to an iconic moment in NBA history.

Holiday is highly likely to be on the floor for 40+ minutes tonight so opportunity will be on his side. Over his last nine games, Holiday has recorded at least nine assists in seven of them. He’s averaging 16.5 potential assists per game over that nine-game stretch which is what we are looking for. With the Bucks in a closeout situation tonight, this is a bet that we should all have on our card.

  • The Pick: Holiday Over 8.5 assists (+118)
