  • A ridiculous 11-game NBA slate is what bettors are looking at Thursday, December 23rd 2021
  • There were originally 12 but the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers had to be postponed due to Covid concerns
  • See below to find out some of the best player props to bet on tonight

We’ve hit the motherload of NBA games tonight since every team is off for Christmas Eve tomorrow night. Eleven games, 22 teams, which means a ridiculous amount of player props for us bettors. Christmas came a little early if you ask me.

I’m not a big complain guy but we’re only getting one of these games on national television which feels a bit light. It’s fine with me because I’ll make the best of any situation but to only have the Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks on NBA TV at 8:30pm ET seems criminal. It’s a good game so we can let it slide but this shouldn’t happen to good people like ourselves.

There are more unforeseen roster changes in the NBA than any other sport. Because of that, many books are reluctant to post player prop lines too early in the day. For that reason, not all of the teams in action tonight are included in the table below. Scroll down to see the lines that are available and a couple of best bets.

Odds as of Dec 23rd at FanDuel & DraftKings

Mad Max for Three

My favorite thing to do when I play pick up basketball is hang out by the three-point line and just jack up threes. It’s fun, it’s easy and there’s a good chance I won’t tear my ACL doing that. Safety first people. So when I see a guy that does that in the NBA, I immediately connect with that guy.

If you’ve ever watched Max Strus play, then you know he’s that exact type of player.

Asking a guy to drop four-plus threes in a game is kind of a lot but not for Max. Injuries have completely ravaged the Miami Heat so my guy Max is getting all the run he can handle. Since he’s playing, he’s jacking up a ton of threes. That’s just what happens when Max plays.

Over his last three games, Strus has played at least 33 minutes in all of them and has taken at least 11 three-point attempts in each game. My guess is he does the same thing tonight against the Detroit Pistons. If that happens, it’s not that crazy to bet that he’ll can at least four threes.

  • The Pick: Max Strus  4+ Made Threes (+174) at FanDuel

We’re Going Back to Jakob

It sounds crazy but we’d probably be pretty smart to fire up the Jakob train again tonight. What can I say, I have a soft spot for the big guy. He’s been bringing extra coin into my sportsbook account for a little while now and he’s grown on me. Plus, the guy can kind of play a little.

We’re not betting his blocks tonight but this is kind of cool.

The books have upped his point total a little tonight but that’s just to see how committed we are to Jakob. We know that he can drop 20+ on the Lakers just like he did last time. They have nobody to handle Poeltl down low and they’ve given up at least 19 points to every big man they’ve seen in the last three games. This one will be worth staying up late for tonight.

  • The Pick: Jakob Poeltl Over 12.5 points (+100) at DraftKings
