  • Seven NBA games are staring at bettors Monday, December 27th 2021
  • NBA TV will be showing two of those games including the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers at 10:30pm ET
  • See below to find out some of the best player props to bet on tonight

Many believe that the NBA season doesn’t start until Christmas Day and if that’s the case then the NBA is back! Bettors of the sport know that’s not true but whatever works is fine with me. As long as we can all agree that the NBA is in full swing now.

Tonight we’ve got seven games on the slate but the good news is two of them are nationally televised. NBA TV is place and the whole thing begins at 7:30pm ET with the Chicago Bulls and Atlanta Hawks. When they wrap up we’ll head out to Los Angeles to see the Brooklyn Nets take on the Clippers. Tonight has a really good chance of being awesome.

There are more unforeseen roster changes in the NBA than any other sport. Because of that, many books are reluctant to post player prop lines too early in the day. For that reason, not all of the teams in action tonight are included in the table below. Scroll down to see the lines that are available and a couple of best bets.

Odds as of Dec 27th at FanDuel & DraftKings

Finney-Smith Can Ball

Injuries stink. So do Covid protocols. But, this is the world we live in so we just have to roll with it. One man’s misery can be another man’s opportunity and that’s what’s we’re seeing in Dallas with Luka Doncic being on the shelf. It’s a next man up type situation and there are plenty of capable bodies on the Mavericks’ roster to shoulder the scoring load.

One guy that sticks out to me is Dorian Finney-Smith.

There are two ways to play Finney-Smith and both are deadly. You could go the made-threes route which gives you a 2.5 at +132 move. Finney-Smith has taken at least nine three-point attempts in both of this last three games so he’s definitely seeing the volume. Still, I am going with his point total.

Doncic has been out for six games and Finney-Smith has scored in the double digits in five of them. The one time he didn’t was the night the Mavericks blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder so he didn’t see even 30 minutes. The part I like best is Finney-Smith has taken double digit shot attempts in all six games. If he does that tonight, he’s a safe bet to score at least 11 points.

  • The Pick: Dorian Finney-Smith Over 10.5 Points (-106)

Time to Back Claxton

Another team that is seeing their fair share of injuries and Covid issues is the Brooklyn Nets. Between Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and LaMarcus Aldridge, they are missing a ton of firepower at the moment. Still, they have to play the games and at the end of the day, they still have other NBA players on their roster.

One that I think is worth looking at is Nicolas Claxton.

Claxton has started in the place of LaMarcus Aldridge for three games now and has scored at least 16 points in two of the three. In fact, the only game he failed to hit double digits in the scoring column was last game where he only scored nine points. The thing is, he took nine shots that night which is where he’s been operating in his new starting gig.

Claxton does pretty much all of his scoring in the paint which is a good thing given the Nets’ opponent tonight. Only four teams in the NBA give up more points in the paint than the Clippers on the season. If Claxton takes nine shots tonight, he should score at least 10 points.

  • The Pick:  Nicolas Claxton Over 9.5 points (-128)
