February 20th NBA Props – Best Player Prop Bets for Saturday Games

• Several of the NBA’s biggest stars are in action on Saturday

Five NBA games are scheduled for February 20th. A couple of postponements have limited the Saturday action, but there’s still some fascinating matchups ahead. MVP candidates LeBron James, Steph Curry and Damian Lillard are all due to play, while fringe All-Star contenders Zach LaVine and De’Aaron Fox go head-to-head.

In a pivotal matchup in the Western Conference playoff race, the Phoenix Suns and Memphis Grizzlies face off. Ja Morant and Devin Booker are two intriguing names in Saturday’s NBA player props.

Kuzma’s Scoring

Kyle Kuzma has been inserted into the Lakers starting line-up in the absence of Anthony Davis. Always a streaky scorer, the lone remaining piece of the Lakers’ young core has been productive of late. He’s gone over 15.5 points in four of his last five games.

Averaging over 12 field goal attempts per game across his last seven outings, Kuzma’s role has increased. In the prior eight games, he was averaging under eight field goal attempts per game.

There are shots to go around with Davis out of the lineup. Dennis Schroder is out, too, making Kuzma the Lakers’ second option on offense. He was the only non-LeBron Laker to reach double figures in shot attempts in the loss to Brooklyn.

The three-point shooting will come and go with Kuzma. His game has developed over the last couple of seasons, though, and he’s become a capable scorer from all over the floor. He’s a threat on the glass, too. The Heat rank 22nd in defensive rebounding rate, and that could be an area where Kuzma can pick up some easy points – the 27th pick in the 2017 draft has averaged 3.1 offensive boards per game over the last seven.

Miami has made massive strides defensively with Bam Adebayo and Jimmy Butler healthy. Kuzma will still have plenty of opportunities to go at Duncan Robinson, Kelly Olynyk or Tyler Herro, however. Providing this game stays close enough for him to play big minutes, Kuzma should cruise past 15.5.

LaVine Stays Hot

Zach LaVine has scored over 30.5 on 11 occasions this season. He’s scored 30 or more in six of his last seven games. The Bulls star might have only gone over 30.5 in one of his last four outings, but that shouldn’t put bettors off his points over here. This is not a good Sacramento defense – they rank 24th in the NBA in defensive rating over their last 10.

The list of players scoring more points per game than LaVine in February is short. The three ahead of him – Joel Embiid, Steph Curry, Luka Doncic – are all, to varying degrees, in the MVP race. LaVine might not be at that level, but he’s been producing like an All-Star this season. An effective field goal percentage of 59.9% is a career-high, too.

LaVine also boasts an impressive record on the second night of back-to-backs, which this game is for Chicago. He scored 39 in the Bulls’ last game on the second night of a back-to-back, and he’s scored 31 or more in four of six games with no rest day.

The Kings are on a five-game losing streak. Sacramento has conceded 118 or more points in each of those losses. This has the makings of yet another massive night for LaVine.
