The Brooklyn Nets are due to have their big three together for the first time this season on Wednesday night. After months of discussion and speculation, Kyrie Irving’s return is actually happening, although the All-Star guard will only be appearing in road games.

All eyes are on Brooklyn’s matchup with the Pacers, but there’s plenty of other games to get stuck into. Philadelphia is favored by 6.5 for their contest with Orlando, and the inconsistent Boston Celtics host the San Antonio Spurs, who lost to the Raptors on Tuesday.

Out west, it’s the Heat and Blazers in Portland, with the Hawks and Kings going head-to-head following Trae Young’s 56-point gem a couple of nights ago. The depleted Denver Nuggets face the unenviable task of hosting the Utah Jazz. See all available NBA Player props as of Wednesday morning within the table below.

Kuz Keeps Contributing

Houston is a mess. There’s conflict between the coaching staff and key players. They have lost eight in a row. Washington is missing much of its rotation like so many teams around the league, but they have arrested their own slump, going 4-3 over the last seven, and Kyle Kuzma’s play has been a big part of that.

Kuzma is leading the team with 9.4 boards per game over that span. His scoring is up to over 21 per contest. The former Laker has stepped up with Montrezl Harrell, Spencer Dinwiddie and Aaron Holiday in protocols, sharing smallball center duties with Deni Avdija when Daniel Gafford is on the bench.

As a result, Kuzma has gone over 28.5 points and rebounds in each of his last four games. He’s facing a Rockets team with by far the worst defense in the league over the last 10 games, and which ranks third-worst in rebounding rate over that span.

A blowout reducing Kuzma’s minutes is the biggest threat to this over. Washington still has a -3.8 net rating over the last 10, though, and they’ve got just one win by more than 10 points since November 13th.

There’s enough here to be confident in Kuzma’s production. Take the over.

  • Pick: Kyle Kuzma over 28.5 points and rebounds (-111)

Joker Dominates Utah

Rudy Gobert and Hassan Whiteside are questionable for the Jazz. Quin Snyder potentially has a very small roster for this matchup with Denver, which isn’t where you want to be against Nikola Jokic.

It’s particularly alarming for the Jazz given Jokic’s record against them even when Gobert is available. The reigning MVP averaged 35, 12 and nine in three games versus Utah last season, after posting 29, 12 and nine across 2019-20.

This 41.5 line for points and rebounds might look high at first. Jokic has passed it in just three of his last seven regular season matchups with Utah, but this Denver team is different, and Jokic is more dominant. He’s rebounding at by far a career-best mark, and his usage rate of 32.6% is comfortably above his level last season.

The Joker is averaging 40.3 points and rebounds over his last 10. He’s hit this over in three of his last five games.

YouTube video

Utah has struggled to contain Jokic throughout his career. Jokic can feast on smaller Jazz lineups, using his size for easy points and rebounds. He’s notched 42 or more points and rebounds in five of seven games when he’s played 36 or more minutes – this should be a close game thanks to the Jazz’s absentees.

Jokic has the matchup advantage, the potential for big minutes and the track record to hit this over.

  • Pick: Nikola Jokic over 41.5 points and rebounds (-111)
