  • Washington is 2-0 straight up in the last two games against Dallas
  • All of the Mavericks vs Wizards predictions and odds are detailed in the following story

On paper, the Dallas Mavericks (6-3, 3-5-1 ATS) would be given just about every edge over the Washington Wizards (5-6, 5-5-1 ATS). On the basketball court, though, the Wizards have been begging to differ.

Washington has won the last two games from Dallas. At home, the Wizards are 3-1 SU in the past four when playing host to the Mavericks. Washington is 6-1 against the spread in the last seven games against Dallas.

Oddsmakers aren’t allowing themselves to be swayed by history. It’s the Mavericks who are set as 3-point road favorites as they visit Washington. The last three Mavericks vs Wizards games have all gone over.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm ET at Capital One Arena. Dallas is 0-5-1 against the spread over the past six games and 1-6 straight up through the club’s past seven road games. But the Mavericks are 10-3 SU in the past 13 games at Washington and 15-5 SU overall in last 20 games facing the Wizards.

Dallas Mavericks Betting Trends

Dallas will be arriving in the nation’s capital in a foul mood. The Mavericks began their two-games in two days road trip on Wednesday by dropping a 94-87 decision to the Magic in Orlando.

It’s the second time Dallas is playing back-to-back games this season. The previous time on Oct. 29-30, the Mavericks also lost the opener, but then won the second game. They’ve yet to lose more than one game in succession this season.

Orlando held Dallas guard and NBA scoring leader Luca Doncic to 24 points. It’s the first time all season that he’s be limited to under 30 points. Doncic is leading the Mavericks in points (36.0), rebounds (8.4) and assists (8.3) per game.

Spencer Dinwiddie paced the Mavericks with 29 points. Dallas was limited to 37.9% from the field during the loss. Forward/center Christian Wood (sprained left knee) was out.

Washington Wizards Betting Trends

The Wizards are coming home off a road win over the Charlotte Hornets. Kyle Kuzma led the way for Washington with 20 points.

Kristaps Porzingis (19 points), Jordan Goodwin (with a career-high 17 points) and Rui Hachimura (16) were also significant contributors to the victory. Washington’s bench outscored the Charlotte reserves 50-27.

Washington is just 2-5 SU over the past seven games. The Wizards have scored 100 points in just one of their last three games. However, Washington has scored 100+ points in six of the last seven games against the Mavericks.

All-star guard Bradley Beal was missing for the win over Charlotte and will also be out for this game. Beal has been placed in the NBA’s health and safety protocols and can’t play again until he is cleared. Beal is scoring a team-leading 21.6 points per game.

Guard Delon Wright (hamstring strain) is also out for the Wizards. Power forward Taj Gibson (neck strain) is listed as questionable.

Mavericks vs Wizards Prediction

Getting from Orlando to Washington was a bit of a strain for the Mavericks. Due to the approaching Hurricane Nicole, start time for the Orlando-Dallas game was moved up 90 minute. Post-game, the Mavericks traveled by bus to Tampa, to get away from the worst of the storm. They flew from there to DC.

Washington is beginning a three-game homestead facing three of the top teams in the Western Conference – Dallas, the 10-win Utah Jazz and the 7-4 Memphis Grizzlies.

Washington is 3-1 ATS over the past four games, but just 2-2 SU. The Wizards are 1-3-1 ATS at home this season.

Dallas is 6-2 SU as a favorite this season. However, the Mavericks are 3-5-1 ATS when taking the court as the betting chalk in point spread.

Pick:  Wizards +3 (-110)
