James Harden, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets will take a shot at LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in the second half of a TNT doubleheader on Thursday night.

The Nets are coming into this one hot after winning their last four straight, three of which were on the road. James Harden led the way in their latest win over the Phoenix Suns with 38 points and 11 assists.

In their first game without Anthony Davis, the Lakers found a way to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 112-104 in their last game. They have now won nine of their last ten games dating back to January 30th.

It was the Nets coming away with a 104-102 win as 12-point underdogs the last time these clubs met back in March of 2020. In this matchup, the Lakers are two-point favorites and there are plenty of player props to consider.

Montrezl Harrell is a Monster

Montrezl Harrell has never been the type of player that has his effort questioned. Whenever he is on the floor, he’s a full go. He is the type of player that plays with a chip on his shoulder at all times which leads to his compiling statistics at very high per minute rate. Even on a team with high-usage players like Anthony Davis and LeBron James, Harrell is still grabbing career-high rebounds on a per 36 minute basis.

In theory the loss of Anthony Davis could open up more minutes for Harrell but in the last game against Minnesota, he only played 18 minutes. In those 18 minutes, he still had 17 points and pulled down six boards, but we still want more court time for Harrell. Given the way Brooklyn utilizes Jeff Green at the center spot, Harrell’s minutes could tick up tonight.

No team in the NBA gives up more points in the paint than the Brooklyn Nets. They are Charmin soft on the interior and that does not look like it will change anytime soon. They are a great matchup for a guy like Harrell that scores 73.6% of his points in the paint.

Pace should play a role tonight as the Lakers could see a few more opportunities. Only two teams in the NBA see more possessions per game than the Nets and no team is more efficient offensively. This could and should be a spot where the Lakers will have to score more than they normally do to compete which may result in a few more points for Harrell given the opponent.

The Pick: Montrezl Harrell Over 15.5 Points (-118)

LeBron James Still LeBron

Even at 36, LeBron James does not look like he is slowing down anytime soon. He is still right around his career points per game, rebounds per game and assists per game averages. In tonight’s pace up spot against a super team from the east on national television, we could see vintage LeBron.

As long as this game stays competitive, James’ usage should be through the roof. It could be argued that his triple-double prop of +290 is in play but the safer play seems to be his points plus rebounds plus assists total. He is likely to see more scoring opportunities given Davis’s absence which is best for this prop. If he doesn’t, then bettors can still get home with the peripheral numbers.

The Pick: LeBron James Over 46.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-115)
