Boston is absolutely dominating this matchup in recent memory, winning five in a row against Denver dating back to the 2019-20 season.

Nuggets Finding Their Way
It’s obviously early in the campaign, but the Nuggets are already showing they’re no pushover in the West. The return of Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr is already paying off alongside reigning MVP Nikola Jokic, who has his two co-stars back on the court, giving this team a very solid trio.

Honestly, Murray in particular hasn’t even found his best yet. He’s averaging just 15.7 points per contest, yet the Nuggets are still thriving. Wednesday’s victory over Indiana was a prime example of what Michael Malone’s group is truly capable of. Every single starter finished with a minimum of 15 points, with Jokic’s 24 leading the charge, despite playing only 20 minutes due to foul trouble.
Gordon and Murray put up 18 points apiece as well. Denver shot a blistering 43% from downtown and frankly just overwhelmed the Pacers with their contributions from everywhere. With a clean injury report for Friday’s matchup, the Nuggets will be hoping to ride the momentum against a Celtics team who isn’t as stout defensively as usual.
Celtics Thriving at Home
Boston is in great shape at the moment and they’re especially flourishing at the TD Garden, going 4-1. Their last loss at home was way back on October 28th against the Cleveland Cavaliers, winning three straight in front of the C’s supporters since.
While the Celtics were known as one of the best defensive clubs in the Association in 2021-22, they rank 24th this season. But, it hasn’t mattered because their offense is the top dog in the league. Jayson Tatum is averaging 31.2 points per game and Jaylen Brown is posting 25.4 points, forming one of the best duos around.

We saw just how brilliant these two are on Wednesday, both putting up 30-pieces vs. Detroit. Tatum showed out for 31 on 50% shooting from the field, while Brown had 30 on 11 for 19 shooting overall. Sam Hauser’s 24 off the bench were a pleasant surprise, too. Boston led by as many as 24 points and held the Pistons to a 21% clip from deep. Between the Celtics’ hot streak and their brilliance against Denver, they will be dripping with confidence here.
Nuggets vs Celtics Prediction
I think the Nuggets’ run is going to end here. They do not play well against Boston and the Celtics have beaten them by an average of 14.8 points across these last five games. The C’s will cover.
