The Denver Nuggets finish up their California road trip in the Bay Area on Tuesday, December 28th as they face Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors at the Chase Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 10pm ET.

Denver is coming off a 103-100 victory against the Paul George-less Clippers on Boxing Day behind a big night from Nikola Jokic. The Dubs, meanwhile, beat the Suns on Christmas Day in a battle between the two top teams in the Association.

This is the first meeting between the Warriors and Nuggets this year but Golden State took two out of three last season.

Nuggets vs Warriors Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Denver Nuggets +6.5 (-110) +215 OFF
Golden State Warriors -6.5 (-110) -265 OFF

Odds as of December 27th at DraftKings.

The Warriors enter this contest as a 6.5-point home favorite and have typically delivered as an ATS favorite, going 18-8-2. As for the Nuggets, they’re just 13-19 ATS overall.

Denver Struggling on The Road

The depleted Nuggets aren’t enjoying much success early on, stuck on .500 at 16-16 and going 5-5 in their last 10 games. Playing on the road has also been a big struggle for Michael Malone’s squad, posting a dismal 8-10 record.

For Tuesday’s contest, Aaron Gordon is once again listed as questionable after missing the previous two matchups against the Hornets and Clippers. He is one of their best defenders which means it’ll be an even tougher task against an electric Warriors offense.

On Sunday in Los Angeles, it was none other than The Joker who carried Denver. The reigning MVP showed out, erupting for 26 points and grabbing a ridiculous 22 boards. On top of that, Jokic also dished out eight assists. He did receive some help from the rotation, which was refreshing. Austin Rivers and Monte Morris both posted 12 points, while Will Barton collected 17.

The Nuggets shot a solid 37% from downtown and drained 41% of their field goals and that came down to the impressive ball movement. Malone’s group had 29 assists in this game and did a great job of finding good looks, whether they were from midrange or beyond the arc.

Dubs Are Hot

Golden State is 27-6 on the season and comes into Tuesday on a three-game winning streak. Unfortunately,  the Warriors will be without some of the usual suspects here, as Draymond Green just entered COVID-19 protocols while Damion Lee is also sidelined due to the virus.

However, they will get a boost with the return of Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins, two key pieces on both ends of the floor. Steve Kerr’s team really took it to the Suns on Christmas, silencing a loud crowd at the Footprint Center with a 116-107 win. Steph went off for a game-high 33, while four other players finished in double-digits.

Otto Porter Jr was the difference-maker in the desert, scoring seven of his 19 points late in the fourth quarter. Phoenix isn’t a team that typically makes a lot of mistakes but their 13 turnovers proved to be costly, with the Warriors translating them into 21 points.

Golden State was already shorthanded against the Suns, but contributions from role players gave Curry some much-needed help. The same will be needed on Tuesday, especially with their best defender in Green on the shelf.

Nuggets vs Warriors Pick

With Poole and Wiggins back in the fold, I don’t see the Warriors losing this contest. They’re also practically unbeatable at home, going 16-2. Take Golden State to continue their winning run and comfortably cover the spread.

Pick: Warriors -6.5 (-110)
