  • Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks is Wednesday, July 14th
  • Player props litter the board at FanDuel and are viable options for bettors to consider

The 2021 NBA Finals have not yet begun if you subscribe to the notion that a playoff series doesn’t start until a team wins a game on the other’s floor. The Phoenix Suns are up 2-1 over the Milwaukee Bucks after both teams have successfully defended their home court up until this point. Milwaukee was able to get into the win column 120-100 in Game 3 in front of their home fans.

The Bucks will get a chance to even the series Wednesday night in Game 4 at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. Tip off is scheduled for 9pm ET on ABC.

FanDuel has the Bucks listed as 4.5-point favorites again for Game 4. The total has seemed to find a home at 220.5 after opening at 217 in Game 1 and going as high as 222 for Game 3.

As for the futures market, the NBA Championship odds are now showing the Suns as -270 favorites to win the title this season, which is down sharply from -470 before Game 3.

Odds as of July 14th

Cam the Man

At this point, I’m a Cam Johnson fan. Not that he didn’t deserve attention after last year’s bubble performance because that was special too. It’s just that in this year’s playoffs he has been as steady as a bench scorer comes. Johnson even has a body count at this point after what he did to PJ Tucker in Game 3.

In Game 3 Johnson played 30 minutes – the most he’s played in the NBA Finals so far. It’s also tied for the most minutes he’s played in the playoffs. We can’t expect him to hit 30 minutes again tonight but we may not need him to play that much to hit his points total.

As always, the alt lines are worth a look and Johnson’s 9.5 number at +108 seems safe. Essentially we’re betting him to score double digits and he’s done that in six of his last eight games. What’s encouraging is the fact that he did it on 1/5 shooting from three-land in Game 3 which is inefficient by his standards. If Johnson takes anywhere between his normal 5-7 shots tonight, he should score at least 10 points again.

  • The Pick: Johnson Over 9.5 points (+108) *alt line

Giannis the Scorer

The Milwaukee Bucks would be exactly nowhere right now without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The ‘Greek Freak’ has lived up to his name so far in this series and is the main reason the Bucks are one game away from tying the series. He completely took over Game 3, joining Shaquille O’Neal as the only players in NBA Finals history with back-to-back 40-plus points and 10+ rebound games.

FanDuel has 7.5 first quarter points at +108 listed for tonight and as tempting as that is, I like the alt line of 35.5 points at +118 better. Both are deadly, but Antetokounmpo should approach 25 shots again tonight so why not just play the long game? Not only will he see a lot of shots, those shots are coming from very close to the rim. He should flirt with 40 again tonight.

  • The Pick: Antetokounmpo Over 35.5 points (+118) * Alt line
