They say a series doesn’t begin until a team wins on the other team’s floor and if that’s the case, then the 2021 NBA Finals hasn’t even started yet. The Phoenix Suns are up 2-0 on the Milwaukee Bucks after winning both Game 1 and 2 at the Phoenix Suns Arena. The latest was a 118-108 beating last Thursday night.
The Bucks will get a chance to begin evening the series Sunday night when the scene shifts to the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee for Game 3. Tip off is scheduled for 8pm ET on ABC.
The books are expecting the Bucks to get back into this series as they have been installed as 4.5-points favorites for Game 3. The total has slowly risen from Game 1’s 217 open all the way to 222 for Game 3. As for the futures market, the NBA Championship odds are now showing the Suns as -470 favorites to win the title this season.

Ayton the Rebounding Machine
While Chris Paul and Devin Booker continue to get all the shine for the Phoenix Suns, one of the driving forces behind the “Suns in 4” movement is Deandre Ayton. Sure, Phoenix is literally nowhere without Paul and Booker, but many should question where they would be without Ayton. He’s still a young guy with a lot to learn, but he’s getting a ton of on-the-job training during this playoff run.

In his last seven games, Ayton has recorded a double-double in six of them. The lone exception was a night where he was only able to secure nine rebounds while dropping 18 points. One area he has excelled is rebounding. The Bucks don’t really have a big that is on his level in that area and it shows, as he has pulled down 30 rebounds in the first two games of this series.
.@DeandreAyton snares the rebound then kicks it out to @CP3 for the huge trey! 🙌 #ThatsGame #RepublikaNgNBA

Although Ayton is averaging 15 rebounds per game in the first two games of this series, he only pulled down 11 in Game 2. He got off to a slow start as he didn’t pull down his first rebound until nine minutes in the game. The idea of Ayton going nine minutes without pulling down a board tonight is something I would NOT bet on.
The total on Ayton’s rebounds tonight is set at 12.5 (-106) but I like the 14+ rebounds at +138 much better. In the seven games mentioned above, he recorded at least 14 boards in four of them. Even though Ayton is already playing minutes in the 40s, he could see even more opportunities tonight with Dario Saric out with a torn ACL. Anyway we slice it, 14 boards in not a lot for Ayton and at +138, the price is right.
- The Pick: Ayton to record 14+ rebounds (+138)
Jrue With the Dimes
Even though Jrue Holiday hasn’t been great so far this series, there is no doubt he can erupt at any point. When the Bucks got Holiday in a four-team swap back in November, it was thought that he could be the player that would put the team over the hump. After watching what he’s done in this year’s playoffs, the Bucks were right. They wouldn’t be here without him.
Jrue Holiday did it all for the Bucks in Game 6, helping punch their ticket to the NBA Finals!

One area bettors can exploit tonight is Holiday in the assists market. Over his last six games, Holiday has recorded at least nine assists in five of them. In his only home game of that stretch he dished out 13 dimes. Bettors can grab his over 8.5 assists at +116 on the alt line tonight which I think is a great idea. If you would like to get a little more ambitious, his 9.5 is available at +182 but I’m sticking with the over at 8.5.
- The Pick: Holiday Over 8.5 assists (+116) * Alt line
