A battle between two teams currently in the Eastern Conference playoff picture will battle at 8pm ET on Friday, Dec 7th when the Washington Wizards battle the Chicago Bulls at United Center in Chicago.

Washington enters at 19-19 on the year and is 4-6 in its last 10 games, currently sitting in ninth place in the East standings. The Wizards are coming off of a 114-111 loss to the Houston Rockets on Wednesday in Washington D.C.

Chicago enters at 25-10 on the year and is 8-2 over the last 10 contests while sitting atop the East with the conference’s best record. The Bulls most recently defeated the Orlando Magic 102-98 on Monday in Chicago.

Injury Report

Washington will likely be shorthanded in the game, with Thomas Bryant, Anthony Gill, Rui Hachimura, Brad Wanamaker and Tremont Waters all out in health and safety protocols. Montrezl Harrell (health and safety protocols) is questionable and Davis Bertans (foot) is doubtful.

For Chicago, Alex Caruso sill miss the game in health and safety protocols, while Tyler Cook (ankle), Javonte Green (adductor strain) and Patrick Williams (wrist) are also listed as out.

Wizards Fighting to Improve Seeding

Washington enters Friday looking to not only improve its position in the conference standings, but also avoid dropping back further with a loss. The Wizards, currently in the ninth seed, are a half-game back of jumping to as high as the seventh seed, while also just one game ahead of dropping down to the 10-11 seeds.

Washington has struggled a bit in road games this season, dropping four of its last six road contests while holding a record of 9-12 in away games. In road games, the Wizards offense has struggled compared to how it performs in home contests.

Washington is averaging 104.6 points while giving up 108.9 in road games, compared to tallying 110.2 points and allowing 109.8 points to opponents in home games.

Chicago has been one of the hottest teams in the conference and entire NBA as of late, looking to continue to build onto that against Washington.

The Bulls come into the contest with the best record in the East, leading the Brooklyn Nets by 1.5 games for the top spot. Chicago has also won eight straight games to jump up to the top seed.

The duo of DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine has been entertaining to watch all season long in Chicago, with DeRozan leading the team with 26.9 points, five rebounds and 4.5 assists, and LaVine averaging 26.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.2 assists to lead the Bulls.

Prediction and Best Bet

This game on Friday night could be an entertaining one between two conference opponents.

Chicago is trying to stay hot while the Wizards are fighting for better playoff positioning. This is advantage Bulls, who have been playing some of the best basketball of any team in the NBA right now, and that task will be too much for Washington to overcome on Friday night.
