The top two teams in the SEC battle for the second time this season tonight. Tennessee ran away with a 91-71 win over Alabama in Knoxville on January 20 the last time these teams played, so Alabama will be looking for revenge on their home court.

The Crimson Tide have won four of their last five, and have put together a 13-1 record at home. Tennessee is also hot heading into this game as they have won seven of their last eight games.

The college basketball odds suggest that Alabama will avenge their loss from January as they are 3.5-point favorites. Points are also expected to come in bunches as the O/U is 171.

Tennessee Betting Trends

The Volunteers have put together a 22-6 record, putting them at the top of the SEC standings. Tennessee is 12-3 in their conference, and like most teams this season, they have thrived at home. They are 14-1 in Knoxville and are 6-3 away from home. Tennessee is 14-13-1 against the spread this season, but they are just 1-3 ATS as an underdog. While the Vols have a good straight up record on the road, they are just 3-6 against the spread outside from Knoxville.

It is difficult to talk about Tennessee’s season without bringing up Dalton Knecht. He is fresh off a 39-point outing against Auburn and has been one of the top players in the nation all season long. Knecht can score from anywhere on the court and leads the team by far with 20.9 points per game. He has been a great complement to Zakai Zeigler, who is averaging 11. points per game and 5.9 assists per outing. That combination is a big reason why Tennessee averages over 80 points per game.

The Volunteer defense has been impressive as well. Tennessee is allowing 68 points per game, and Zegler annoys opposing offenses. He has averaged two steals a game over the last two seasons. Turnovers were a big factor in the first matchup between these two teams, so Tennessee will look to force even more in this rematch.

Alabama Betting Trends

Scoring. Scoring. Scoring. Alabama shoots the ball quickly and often, and that has gotten them to the No. 1 offensive team in the country. The Crimson Tide score over 90 points per game and shoot the second most threes in the nation. Alabama has done well with their three-point shooting as they shoot 38.06% from behind the arc.

Alabama is currently ranked second in the SEC standings, sitting only behind Tennessee. The Crimson Tide are 20-8 overall with a 12-3 record in the conference. Alabama is 13-1 at home. They have also put together a strong against the spread record this year as they have covered 17 of their 28 games. They are even more impressive in Tuscaloosa. Alabama is 11-3 against the spread on their home court this season.

Turnovers have been the main issue for Alabama this season, but they also force turnovers on their own. Alabama forces 12 turnovers per game giving their lethal offense even more possessions.

College basketball player props from DraftKings.

On his way to averaging 20.9 points per game, Knecht has made at least three three-pointers in his last three games. Alabama guard Mark Sears is averaging 20.6 points per game, and his points prop is right there at 20.5. In what should be a high-scoring game, multiple players’ points prop are over their average.

For example, Zeigler is averaging just over 11 points per game and his prop is 13.5. Knecht’s is also at a whopping 22.5.

Tennessee vs Alabama Prediction

It is hard to bet against Alabama at home, so I will not. They are seeking revenge and will have their fans behind them in this Top 15 matchup. Alabama put up an uncharacteristic 71 points in their last time out, and that will not happen again.

If they can limit their turnovers, Alabama will have no problem scoring against Tennessee. Alabama is averaging over 95 points at home, and while Knecht and Tennessee can also put up points, the Crimson Tide will not lose if they score that many tonight.

Pick: Alabama -3.5 (-112)
